Episode 71: Chuck And Brad (Try To) Save Christmas

The boys make their vaunted return to podcasting with a festive discussion about Christmas. Tragically, our the chums are rather glum this holiday season and discuss initially why that is so before talking about things that will make their yule-time bright. Will Christmas be saved? You'll have to listen to find out!

Episode 69: Our E3 Impressions

The (now-)annual E3 podcast is kicked off with some Web Coulier discussion - see below for links! Chuck and Brad talk about their excitement for the next installment in the Saints Row series, the gameplay trailer for Dead Island, the newest Mario Kart game, and the tech behind Onlive, an online-only video game service.
Once the Couliers are done, the boys wax ecstatic about other games/tech they are stoked for from this year's E3! Uncharted 3 for PS3, as well as the new game Heist start it off. Chuck moves on quickly to the newest Spider-Man game, then talks up Kinect Fun Labs (as more of an app than a game). C&B talk about their funky fresh dance moves with Dance Central 2 (note: their actual dance moves are funky but rarely fresh). Microsoft's promise of cloud storage for Xbox gaming shrinks their pants.
Chuck is sorely tempted to buy a 3DS with announcements of Starfox 64 3DS, as well as a new Mario game for the system. Brad finally gives his take on Mass Effect 3 and Zelda: Skyward Sword, then a brief discussion about Halo 4. Twisted Metal and Gunstringer seem like fun games, as well as Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. The boyz-with-a-z end their conference impression talk with a discussion about Nintendo's new console, arriving sometime next year - the Wii U. It's going to be a banner year for video games, so listen to what these well-informed and well-intentioned pricks have to say!

Episode 68: A Media Glut

The podcast opens with a tragedy of epic proportions, as Princess Chuck's coffee isn't perfectly up to snuff. Chuck and Brad then dive into updates about Senior Discount and SkyPunch!, then hit up their Web Couliers (a cool name for cool stuff on the internet).
The boys read emails from Eric (of local band Soundoff) and a criticism of Iron Man 2 from new(?) listener Jason. After having a respectful discussion about the emails, we are treated to a debut of Brad's new weekly segment - "Put Out or Shout Outs."
Loyal listeners may remember a previous p'cast that mentioned the 104-flavor Coke machine. Brad has been to the mountaintop to try it...what did he think?
After that conversation winds down, the pizza-loving pair look at some of the media they've experienced in the recent past. Patton Oswalt's book, Black Swan, Tron and Tron: Legacy, The Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, and Tough Enough. (If I were reading this list out loud, I would now pause to take a comically-large breath)
Chuck recently saw The Incredibles for the first time, and Brad and Chuck watched The Green Hornet (an Easter tradition sure to endure). Both boys liked Tangled, Chuck finally saw the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Did they like it as much as "Predator 2?"
"The Prestige" leads into a brief discussion of Christopher Nolan films, then we finally get to Brad's recent media. Publishing sensation "The Hunger Games" and classic film "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," then back to Chuck for his take on "Just Cause 2."
Brad mentions how much he's looking forward to (now-released) LA Noire, then Chuck and Brad present their reviews of "Repo Men."
They discuss their recent trip to see My Chemical Romance in concert, as well as "Undisputed." Chuck highly recommends the new Foo Fighters documentary, then mentions Demetri Martin's cleverly-named book This is a Book, as well as The Internet is a Playground. The boys also recently saw the movie "Thor."
The podcast closes with a tale of a failed Brad-crush, and how it relates to viewing one's life as a story. Another poignant moment from the masters of sentimentality. And jizz-based jokes.

Episode 67, Part 2: The Scream Franchise (Spoilers!)

The bluesome twosome are joined by Alan X. Sousa to discuss the Scream franchise. There are many spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movies, this may be a podcast to imagine rather than listen to (when you imagine it, please have Brad say all the jokes).

That's it. Scream through Scream 4.

Episode 67, Part 1: Extended Web Couliers, "Brad Roulette," Spider-Man: The Musical, and the Gang Heads to see "American Idiot" on Broadway!

After the Senior Discount/Sky Punch updates, Chuck, Brad, and Special Guest Alan Marie Sousa go for an extended discussion of this week's Web Couliers.
From there, they talk about their own funerals for a while. Deep conversation from such shallow jerks!
After that, Chuck plays a new game, creatively entitled "Brad Roulette." Eight pictures of a certain celebrity are shown, and Brad needs to say whether or not she's attractive in the pictures - but he doesn't know if she's 17 or 21 or somewhere in between! What will Wholesome Ol' Brad say?!?!
They follow that with Chuck recapping his trip to see a performance of the Spider-Man musical on Broadway. They close this two-part episode with a talk about the group's trip to New York City to see a performance of "American Idiot" on Broadway.

Episode 66: Cloud Storage, Guitar Hero, and Creativity

After the Senior Discount/Sky Punch updates, Chuck describes a new joke at Brad's expense, and also shares an embarrassing story from his own life. Our lovable scoundrels then discuss this week's Web Couliers, which segues nicely into a discussion of streaming media and cloud storage.
After spending so much time discussing music games on past podcasts, is it any surprise that Brad and Chuck have so much to say about the "death" of the Guitar Hero series? It shouldn't be, you fool!
They follow that with a discussion about creativity and art, and why they create at all. It's a surprisingly in-depth discussion for two guys who are biologically idiots. They close with a discussion of their recent Wrestlemania party, and all the delicious foods that were eaten.

Episode 65: 30-Second Reviews, Polarizing Tweets, Against Me! Concerts, "Paul," "Red State," and "Rango"

After the Senior Discount/Sky Punch updates, the boys hit up some hot and wild Web Coulier action. They follow that up with Chuck's new weekly session, simply titled "Bret Easton Ellis' Polarizing Tweets." After that discussion, our heroes discuss various media they've experienced in the recent past, getting most of the reviews done in (about) thirty seconds (each).
Fun fact: Chuck and Brad saw Against Me! live two nights in a row and share their experiences with you. They also discuss AM!'s upcoming album, as well as possible beef between Against Me! and Rise Against. The podcast closes with discussions of currently-in-theaters movies "Paul" and "Rango," as well as Chuck's trip to see Kevin Smith's "Red State" screening/Q&A.
Oh, and lest we forget, they find time to talk about their feelings toward professional wrestling. (SPOILER ALERT: They are for it.)

Episode 64: The Evolution of Car Tag

Chuck and Brad are joined in the studio (and that word is used in its loosest sense) by John Cabral, Jordan Furtado, Lou Perella, and Christian Staton to discuss some tomfoolery they got up to while in high school. Specifically, they reminisce about the wonder and majesty that is CAR TAG. From its humble beginnings as Car Shenanigans to the wild and crazy heyday of Car Tag, it's all there. Cringe in fear as the boys relate close class, both with the police and mortal peril. Chuckle with delight as Brad sighs disapprovingly at any sort of danger. And ejaculate with excitement when they award "Most Valuable Driver" and "Most Valuable Runner" awards!

Episode 63: Senior Discount's Nightmare Before Christmas

Chuck and Brad meet with the rest of Senior Discount - Alan Sousa, Christian Staton, and Tom "The Frump" Wells - to tell the behind-the-scenes story of 2010's Christmas season. The band discusses the drama and problems that came with booking a live show for December 23rd. In addition, they reminisce fondly about all the nonsense that kept coming up when trying to get into the studio to record their Christmas medley. If you like tales of weird sound engineers and drummers failing to game hot backup singers, this is one podcast you can't miss! It's a rare glimpse (an audio glimpse!) behind the veil of a band trying to do something special for their fans. Web Couliers: There were no Web Couliers for this podcast, as Tom's incessant coughing prevented discussion of cool things on the web. Episode 62, Part 2: Disney Cartoons and TGIF shows

The boys are joined on the second part of this two-part episode by the (still-)dashing Patrick Dennis. Patrick brings his expertise in the Disney arena to the table as the gentlemen discuss Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, and other shows. The discussion then segues into a review of ABC's Friday Night Programming Block in the 90's, better known as "TGIF." The podcast ends up Patrick detailing the huge crush on a Family Matters character - Urkel-bot!*

* - This statement is not true. Patrick's relationship with Urkel-bot was strictly platonic.

Episode 62, Part 1: Listener Mail and Brad's Speed-Dating Experience

The boys are joined on this episode by the dashing Patrick Dennis. After the Senior Discount/Sky Punch and Chuck/Brad updates, the three amigos dive into some listener mail.Topics discussed include everything from desktop computers to meals the size of a desktop. (By the way, now would be a good time to mention that Brad will be writing these synopses instead of Chuck. I mention this because I want to make sure I give Chuck credit for the joke he asked me to include about desktop-sized meals.)
Web couliers for this week include some listener-submitted entries, as well as a poignant look at college life and an excellent cover of “The Power of Love.”
Once the administrative business has concluded, Brad enlightens Chuck and Patrick as to what exactly went down when he was at a local speed-dating event. Chuck and Patrick ask Brad pointed questions and really get to the heart of the matter – how did Brad fail so badly?

Episode 2 brings you "TV", "Movies" and "Personal" categories!

Song List:
Tom Wells (the lead guitarist of Senior Discount, and audio editor of this podcast) sent me his typical "Podcast Song List" email that he usually sends me.
Most of the time, it's a list of local artists, the specific songs we used, and links to their web pages. I use this to compose a "Song List" HTML page for each podcast episode.
This time he sent me this - "Part 2 is a smattering of my fav songs from the past year, so no need to really link that one."
So; anyone looking to sue? Talk to Tom.
