#509 - Montezuma's Revenge, Thunder Road, and Chuck Needs a Win

Chuck wonders about the term "Montezuma's Revenge" and its origins, which leads to a discussion about legacy - is it better to be known for something gross or forgotten? Chuck pushes me on my fictional legacy. We read some listener emails, one of which forces us to dive into our knowledge of pop-punk songs and which ones we love. We talk about the recent weather event in Texas and how they affected our Lone Star Pals. Chuck opens up about the dynamic relationship between receiving public praise and dealing with private failures and that struggle. We then discuss the movie "Thunder Road," and how we feel about Jim Cummings. I tell Chuck all about the listener-recommended show Joe Pera Talks With You and how much I enjoyed it. I also mention Derek Delgaudio's In and Of Itself, but can't talk too much about it without spoiling things for Chuck. We then discuss the trailer for the new Mortal Kombat movie and our experiences with the Mortal Kombat franchise. From there, it's video game news - Tony Hawk coming to the Switch, a new documentary series about Nintendo - a quick step away to discuss Disney Plus' Parental Controls. We then discuss the upcoming documentary "Murder Among The Mormons" before closing with a discussion about a TV show based on the Playstation series of "Twisted Metal" games.

#508 - Chuck's New Hampshire Weekend, Jackass 4 Drama, and WandaVision

Chuck went away for the weekend and now he's back! We offer up some Armie Hammer jokes, then read some listener emails. Chuck admits he sometimes confuses history and television and I am appalled. He tells me about his Curb Your Enthusiasm-style encounter with a local bakery, then some minor complaints about another situation. He then regales me with the entire story of his Gina's Birthday/Valentine's weekend in New Hampshire. Delicious restaurants, cool coffee shops, a fun antique store, a perilous bridge...solid weekend! From there, we discuss Bam Margera's recent Instagram stories cursing the cast and crew of Jackass 4 and what it means for Bam (and the movie). After that, we get into WandaVision theories so our guesses will be on the record when the show ends! How will it end, and how will Chuck assimilate this show into what he perceives as "history?"

#507 - The Trial of Ray Harrington, Chuck's Bizarre Showers, and Clone High

Ray Harrington joins us (in person!) this week to talk about a bunch of fun stuff. Chuck presents us with (sincere!) Valentine's gifts. We then talk about Chuck's new video with the Tell Em Steve-Dave guys, then read some listener emails. We discuss my testosterone levels, The Avengers recreated in 16-bit scenes, then a bunch of things including Chuck's Halloween playlist and some book recommendations. Chuck then explains his new hygiene routine to me and Ray and it gets weirder and weirder as he continues to explain it. We talk about Chuck's recent dentist visit and talk about the comedy of a prank and how it works. We discuss the Clone High to HBO Max news and talk about our experience with the show. We then talk about some old listener emails discussing Ray and talk about our relationship to criticism. We get pretty slap-happy as we close this episode! Lot of fun!

#506 - Absurd Comedies, Cannibalism, and Chuck Saves (?) a Mouse

Episode 506 kicks off with an attempt to cheer up Brad. We talk about some listener emails, and Chuck presents Brad with a gift inspired by last week's emails. Chuck lists some more of his favorite comic series, then we discuss the 1998 film "Wrongfully Accused" and try to figure out where comedies like that have gone. Chuck talks about filming and completing the film project "First Sunday Back at the Secret Stash" with the Tell Em Steve-Dave crew. We then discuss the Armie Hammer cannibalism controvery and try to figure out how many cannibals we know. Chuck talks about some health issues he has dealt with in the past and we try and armchair doctor things we know nothing about. Chuck closes with a heartwarming story of trying to save a mouse that made its way into his house.
