#484 - Chuck's SmodCo Experience, Documentary Quality, and Letting Go Of Old Art

Just Chuck and I this week, but we have plenty of Smod Content for all the Ants who now love us (maybe?)! We talk about Song Exploder and the trailers for WandaVision and Console Wars (with a slight tangent to the Cola Wars of the 80's). We get psyched for the Scott Pilgrim game re-release and express concerns and joy about the Adam Sandler film "Hubie Halloween." Chuck tells me about the documentary "Class Action Park" and its quality. We then discuss Pretending I'm A Superman, a documentary about the history of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, as well as Happy Happy Joy Joy, a documentary about Ren and Stimpy.
We discuss the re-release of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 for current gen systems and briefly mention the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. Chuck tells me about Being John Malkovich, which somehow gets us to the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal.
Chuck then regales me with the tale of his recent trip to Jersey. Filming for Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, eating at Mooby's, hanging at Smodcastle - fun stuff across the board! Following that, we talk about art from our past that we created that we are now ashamed of and question what to do with it.

#480 - An American Pickle, High Score, and DC Fandome

We take a one-week break from "TESD Town History" this week, but it will be back next week! We open some voting to the Chubies (that's you) to help determine which horror series we watch and recap this October. We talk about the upcoming reboot of The Thing and get on a whole tangent about getting stranded in a blizzard a few years back. We talk about the upcoming Action Park documentary, the surprising cancellations of Tosh.O and Drunk History, the HBO Max Seth Rogen movie An American Pickle, then the new documentary series on Netflix about the history of video games - High Score. Chuck raves about the documentary series I'll Be Gone In The Dark and we vow (?) to solve a cold murder case before the end of the year.
After that, we talk about the announcements that came from this year's DC Fandome event. Our levels of excitment and caution do NOT match as we discuss the games Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. We discuss the upcoming Flash movie and of course...the trailer for The Batman. Which one of us is cautiously optimistic and which one of us claims to be but is secretly sporting a "DC Movies 4-ever" tattoo?
