Episode 310: The Story of The Portuguese Kids

This week finds us talking with two of "The Portuguese Kids," Brian Martins and Derrick DeMelo. Brian and Derrick talk about how they (and the other Portuguese Kids) got their start making funny videos, how they got together as a group, and what made them shift their focus to the Portuguese side of things. We also have one of my favorite-ever running jokes throughout the episode. It's a good talk about ensemble comedy and some of struggles they've had to overcome to keep pursuing what they love. Ummmmm...Obrigado? Is that right?

Episode 309: The Story of Bowling For Soup

Wow! I went to Boston, got on a tour bus and interviewed the insanely welcoming Erik Chandler from Bowling For Soup! As we tend to do, we started at the BEGINNING! I went in for the details of how the band started in Wichita Falls, the journey from regular guy to musician, the justification for taking art seriously enough to make it a career, the "Holy Shit!" moments about moving forward, some super-secret tips for bands on how to fund their dreams, a "Back to the Future" reference that DOESN'T come from me, and a whole lot of band dude talk! This was a great time! And without giving anything away, I'm very excited for future stories with BFS.....!!!

Episode 308: The Epic Tale Of Jon Tillson (REMASTERED)

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: This episode is the same episode that was posted yesterday, but we realized that Jon's dulcet tones were a little too low in the mix, so we've remixed the episode to re-release it (which is the first time we've ever done this) to give this giggling juggernaut the solid presence he deserves! Also, Brad may or may not have misspelled "Episode" in yesterday's posting. So now all that garbage is fixed! That is all!
We are joined this week by local stand-up comic Jonathan Tillson. After a quick "vomit story" from Chuck (one of many), we get into it with Jon. We hear about his background, his decision to start doing comedy, his comedy philosophy, and, most importantly, how he feels about the live-action reboot of "The Jungle Book." Such a fun talk with such a fun dude! Wow!
~ Brad

P.S. As always, yes, we discuss Gremlins.
