#478 - The Story of Walt Flanagan

Part one in a multi-part miniseries, "TESD Town History!" Chuck sits down for an in-person one-on-one with Walt Flanagan of Tell 'Em Steve-Dave, inside Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. Walt talks about his entire life in creativity - from drawing comics, to starring in AMC's "Comic Book Men," to reluctantly starting the podcast, and now showrunning a massively successful Patreon. We also hear how about Chuck's eventual involvement and a funeral invitation led to Walt and Chuck connecting (yes, seriously). It's an incredibly interesting dive into the experiences of an incredibly interesting man. After that, Chuck forces me to tell an embarrassing story from my past in which I feud with a Salvation Army Santa Calus. Also - yes, seriously.

#411 - Comedy Tour Behind The Scenes, An Improv Wedding, and Easter Brunch

We start with some light mocking of one another before going into updates about future shows. We talk about some behind-the-scenes of our upcoming/ongoing comedy mini-tour and give a shoutout to all the other creatives working on their own projects out there. We talk about the work behind not just booking the shows, but also promoting them - how did we get ads on FORTY-FIVE different podcasts?!?! Chuck gives an update on his puppy, the adorable Swiss Miss. Chuck tells me about filming with documentarian Shaun Colon, then we talk about a sketch show/wedding we attended on Saturday night. Chuck taunts us all with tales of his family's Easter brunch and we talk about our holiday. We remember to include our second sponsor before signing off for the week!

#407 - The Story of The Time Capsule

This week finds us with local business icon Robert Yeremian! We learn about the history of the comics/collectibles store The Time Capsule, and man oh man, is it ever a doozy. From Rob's days hustling sales from his room in high school out to California and back, every step of the journey was incredibly entertaining for us!

Episode 308: The Epic Tale Of Jon Tillson (REMASTERED)

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: This episode is the same episode that was posted yesterday, but we realized that Jon's dulcet tones were a little too low in the mix, so we've remixed the episode to re-release it (which is the first time we've ever done this) to give this giggling juggernaut the solid presence he deserves! Also, Brad may or may not have misspelled "Episode" in yesterday's posting. So now all that garbage is fixed! That is all!
We are joined this week by local stand-up comic Jonathan Tillson. After a quick "vomit story" from Chuck (one of many), we get into it with Jon. We hear about his background, his decision to start doing comedy, his comedy philosophy, and, most importantly, how he feels about the live-action reboot of "The Jungle Book." Such a fun talk with such a fun dude! Wow!
~ Brad

P.S. As always, yes, we discuss Gremlins.

Episode 267: Matt's Singleness, Nerding Out, and Black Skabbath

We're joined this week by Matt Di Chaira and Carey Bowman of The Copacetics, and they are ready to chat! We immediately follow a thread of conversation into a thorough exploration of Matt's singleness. Once he's convinced us all of his genius, we nerd out over comic books and the organization thereof. We talk about the new music from The Copacetics and then reveal what we've all been waiting for without knowing it: Black Skabbath.

Episode 249: Mostly About Deadpool

The 249th episode starts with some typical Chuck and Brad updates, then the guys finally address an email they received in early January. They discuss the film "The Babysitters" and the critical ratings thereof. They also throw in some chatter about the below Web Couliers before diving into some media driplets. The gabbers gab about Daniel Bryan's retirement from WWE, news about a possible Saw 8, and some exciting backward compatibility news about Left 4 Dead 2 and Red Dead Redemption - two faves from the Xbox 360 console.
After that, the Deadpool stuff begins. They talk about the origin of the character in the comics, their first encounters with the Merc with a Mouth, and what storylines of his they've enjoyed through the years. They also give their impressions of the new Deadpool movie and consider other actors that could have played the part of Deadpool.
Then Brad brings in one final email and surprises Chuck.

Episode 199: The Story of Nick

Episode 199 finds the boys joined by character artist Nick Kole. Before they dive into the interview, there are some Senior Discount updates and some updates from Brad's improv scene. After that, they discuss the below Web Couliers, before advancing to movie news concerning a sequel to "Neighbors," as well as a Holiday Horror Anthology including a short film directed by Kevin Smith. Whoa mama!
The chief topic of conversation during this episode, though, is Nick Kole. We learn about Nick's background as an artist, what drew him to character design and storytelling, what Viennese Christmas celebrations are like...everything you'd expect to hear. Nick talks about his work with the companion book to Disney's Maleficent, as well as his work in dragon/wizard design for 38 Studios and EA Games/Dawngate Chronicles. It's very fun conversation as we seek to get into the brain of this fantastic artist.

Episode 170: The Story of Patrick

This week, Chuck and Brad are visited by the ghost of podcasts past, as Patrick Dennis stops by the studio! Ostensibly there to talk about his upcoming Boston Comic-Con appearance (this weekend! Table D812!), Chuck and Brad pry through Patrick's brain to learn about his history with art and animation. How did Patrick develop his trademark style? What led him to the 'con life? What kind of things does he have planned for this year? Check it out!
