#556 - The Blizzard, Brad's Bland Chili, and Worldle Sells Out

We jump into listener emails to start the episodes and discuss alternate Scream plans, bland chili, and First Draft Theater. From there, Chuck tells me about China's advisory board changing the ending of Fight Club for theatrical release and I am astounded. I explain the controversy about Wordle "selling out." Chuck talks about some personal gains (by way of personal losses), then we talk about book piracy on Amazon. We discuss our snowy weekend, the WWE Royal Rumble, and our time together conquering the game Blazing Chrome.

#452 - Cage Titans MMA, Embark Dog DNA Tests, and Bad Boys For Life

Our intern Ayden joins us for one final adventure this week! We talk about our friend (and frequent podcast guest) Ray Harrington guesting on the Conan show as we were recording this episode. We talk about Chuck's feelings on animal attack videos and discuss whether bad guys getting attacked by animals would make for good viewing. We recap our recent adventure hosting the Spectacular Cookie Smackdown for RI Food Fights. Chuck and I tell Ayden about our night out watching some local MMA bouts and how it felt to witness such brutality. From there, we discuss the recent WWE Royal Rumble (with a little more scripted brutality). Chuck talks about the Dog DNA kit he just received from the good people at Embark. Chuck tells us about the Kevin Hart documentary series on Netflix. From there, Chuck waxes nostalgic about Bad Boys 1, then waxes ecstatic about Bad Boys 2 (and describes the entire ending sequence to Ayden). We then offer a spoiler-free review of Bad Boys For Life, and give a clear warning before giving our spoiler-full thoughts on the film.

#399 - Fyre Documentary, Bad Times At The El Royale, and A Star Is Born

This week finds us recording with Gina Mastrostefano and Dylan the Intern! Chuck and I discuss some listener emails about wrestling and The Beatles (separate emails, although I'm pretty sure at least two of the Beatles were intercontinental champs at some point). We talk about our Chipotle party watching the Royal Rumble, Chuck and Gina tell us about his fun trip to New Jersey and NYC and I barely contain my jealousy. After that, we break down some movies! We discuss the (Netflix) documentary about the Fyre Fest, then a spoiler-free review of Bad Times at the El Royale. We follow that with a spoiler-free discussion of A Star Is Born, then make it very clear when we're switching to a spoiler-full review of the film. Film criticism! Woo!
Closing the show this week is fellow Paper and Plastick artist Low Spirits with their song A Father's Forgiveness Song!

#349: Chuck's Ebay Fight, Deep Blue Sea 2, and Ant-Man & The Wasp

It's just Chuck and Brad this week! We promote ourselves, Chuck tells me about a sweet new enamel pin he received from Reicheru Art, then he tells me about an eBay fight he had about a month ago that he specifically saved for the podcast. It's one of the best "Chuck's Petty Printouts" ever! After that, we get into the news about new tours for The Lawrence Arms and Frank Turner (separately). Chuck tells me about Deep Blue Sea 2 and I try to figure out other water-based horror movies. We talk about the trailer for Ant-Man & The Wasp and talk about our level of excitement for that versus other Marvel movies. We follow up on our stories about Nobody's Boyscout and then close up shop with our recent Royal Rumble party. A fun, back-to-earth podcast for the two of us.

Episode 247: Nicktoons, Royal Rumble, and Paranormal Activity 6

The 247th episode starts with every listeners' fantasy - Chuck talking about the new sound recording equipment the guys are using! Wow! After some Brad and S*D updates, the guys take a peek at a couple of emails and answer the questions contained therein. From there, Chuck provides some movie news about a Nicktoons movie, and the guys take quite a sidetrip into the rabbithole of Nicktoons shows. Once they get back, it's time to talk about this past week's WWE Royal Rumble event. What did the guys like or love or loathe about the show?
The podcast wraps up with a halfhearted spoilery review of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, the final film in the Paranormal Activity series.

Episode 198: Ghostbusters, Project Almanac and Wrestlemania Predictions

We are joined in episode 198 by Senior Discount bassist Abe Correia and Podcast Pal/Other Band Guy Brian Decoteaux. The episode kicks off with Brian relating a terrible tragedy he experienced in the morning; good laughs are had by all (except Brian). Brad and Chuck promote their upcoming shows, including Senior Discount playing Tuesday, February 10, at DV8 in Providence.
After a quick chat about the below Web Couliers, C tells A, B, and B about some movie news, including information about release windows for the next Paranormal Activity movie and a new chapter in the Ring series. The four bozos talk about the casting of the new Ghostbusters movie and share their opinions, educated and otherwise. They talk about how the entire Wet Hot American Summer cast is coming back for the Netflix series, regardless of its beautiful unlikelihood.
Chuck then chimes in - he won this year's "Royal Rumble" bet, and the winner gets to "change VBW history" - how will he do it? The answer may surprise you! Brad and Chuck discuss the recent film Project Almanac, then Brad talks about the Less Than Jake/Reel Big Fish show he recently attended. They chat about Sunset Overdrive, Chuck talks about the new Saints Row game as well as Dying Light, then shift into mainstream pop culture mode and discuss the ending of the Super Bowl.
Once that is complete, the four stallions set their sights on Wrestlemania and discuss possible matches and storylines we'll see in the months ahead.

Episode 197: Preorder Bonuses, Royal Rumble, and Our Blizzard Conundrum

In a slightly-earlier-than-planned episode, the guys stay toasty warm during a Nor'easter by talking with the sizzling Gina Mastrostefano! Chuck kicks things off with some movie news - Ryan Reynolds talks about Deadpool, Adam Sandler's Netflix film, and the upcoming Dodge and Twist. The three amigos (amigas?) talk about the weird news coming from the Blink-182 camp: did Tom DeLonge leave the band? Is Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio joining?? No one may ever know!
Chuck talks about preorder bonuses for different video games and the guys discuss the pricing model of video games versus other forms of media. This year's Royal Rumble is discussed at length, leading to a dilemma featuring our intrepid heroes...should they go to the re-scheduled Monday Night Raw (on Thursday) or to the previously-scheduled Reel Big Fish/Less Than Jake show?!?!?
Once that issue is (for the moment) solved, Brad talks about the guilt he feels from almost every situation in his life. A quick chat about their abominable blizzard prep, and there you have it...episode 197!

Episode 196: Wrestling Rumbles, Microsoft HoloLens, and Our Understanding of the Geneva Conventions

Episode 196 starts out with some shenanigans, as Brad marvels as to how he can think trivial issues at work amuse him now when they would have annoyed him to no end a few short months ago. From there, it's SkyPunch! and Senior Discount updates, as the guys advertise some upcoming shows. After discussion of the below Web Couliers, there's a tiny dose of movie news about "American Sniper," which of course leads to Chuck and Brad discussing the rules of modern warfare. Listening to Brad try an explain the Geneva Conventions (which he barely understands) is high comedy.
More movie news, as the guys talk about the World War Z sequel, the good-natured Superbowl bet between Chris Evans and Chris Pratt, and the reveal of the new snack "Sweet-O's." Chuck laments not being able to have them, as he is once again on a diet. Chuck tells the story of his gift to our friend Ashley and how much she enjoyed it.

The guys talk about their trip to see a local wrestling show - in this case, the XWA Xtreme Rumble. From there, it's a discussion of the Microsoft HoloLens (video below), before finishing this week's episode with a look toward this Sunday's WWE Royal Rumble.

Episode 106: Chuck and Brad's Media Catch-Up

It's been a month since we last heard from Chuck and Brad, and they have a lot to talk about. They work their way chronologically through (about) the first six weeks of 2013 and talk about media they've experienced and live events they've attended. After some banter concerning Brad's place at Chuck's parents' house during holidays, they dive in. The boyz discuss their trip to Boston to see Louis CK do stand-up, then they give a very brief review of Django Unchained. Chuck talks about a Comedy Central event he attended in Boston, then Brad and Chuck spend a while discussing Dan Harmon's live "Harmontown" podcast and Brad really comes across like a terrible creep.
Paranormal Activity 4 is next up on their docket, then a discussion of the WWE Royal Rumble. They discuss the Dave Grohl-produced documentary Sound City, then the documentary Bully. The podcast closes with Chuck and Brad talking about their harrowing experiences during Winter Storm Nemo.
