#548 - Chuck Loves Hawkeye, Brad's Memory Lane, and The Deli Encounter

We start out by welcoming my new Secret Santa pals to the podcast, as I'm certain they're listening. Chuck accuses me of plying him with alcohol in a bit that I hated immediately. Chuck talks about the move to Staten Island. He waxes ecstatic about the Disney Plus series Hawkeye, which I am not caught up on. Our ecstacy wanes as we discuss the MCU movie "Eternals." At that point, we remember we need to plug our upcoming shows at Smodcastle and the Comedy Connection. Chuck tells me about Ghostbusters: Afterlife, then we talk about the effects of his COVID diagnosis. From there, I talk about my trip to Indiana and the discovery of notes from a high-school sweetheart. Chuck then talks about a possible new sweetheart he encountered at the deli counter at the supermarket near his Staten Island place. We then close with a new segment called "Staton Island," where Chuck talks about how he spends his time at his place in New York to make the lonely hours seem less lonely.

#513 - Chuck Enters the A-List, Brad's Garbage Disposal Drama, and We Defend Kylie Jenner

Chuck regales me up top with a coffee shop mystery that remains unsolved! We then discuss his recent work with (and praise from) Kevin Smith and how he feels about not only that, but appearing on camera for Tell Em Steve-Dave. We break down our feelings about the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Black Widow's premiere is pushed back again - will I be comfortable seeing it in theaters now? We also discuss the MCU/Shakespeare crossover coming soon. Ace Ventura 3 is coming and neither Chuck nor I uses the opportunity to talk with our butts (wasted opportunity). We talk about the NoFX Patreon for a bit. We also discuss the backlash against Kylie Jenner - a celebrity we know virtually nothing about - for being charitable but somehow not being charitable enough. I then tell Chuck about the one exciting thing from my week - inadvertently breaking my garbage disposal and feeling like a complete putz about it.

#509 - Montezuma's Revenge, Thunder Road, and Chuck Needs a Win

Chuck wonders about the term "Montezuma's Revenge" and its origins, which leads to a discussion about legacy - is it better to be known for something gross or forgotten? Chuck pushes me on my fictional legacy. We read some listener emails, one of which forces us to dive into our knowledge of pop-punk songs and which ones we love. We talk about the recent weather event in Texas and how they affected our Lone Star Pals. Chuck opens up about the dynamic relationship between receiving public praise and dealing with private failures and that struggle. We then discuss the movie "Thunder Road," and how we feel about Jim Cummings. I tell Chuck all about the listener-recommended show Joe Pera Talks With You and how much I enjoyed it. I also mention Derek Delgaudio's In and Of Itself, but can't talk too much about it without spoiling things for Chuck. We then discuss the trailer for the new Mortal Kombat movie and our experiences with the Mortal Kombat franchise. From there, it's video game news - Tony Hawk coming to the Switch, a new documentary series about Nintendo - a quick step away to discuss Disney Plus' Parental Controls. We then discuss the upcoming documentary "Murder Among The Mormons" before closing with a discussion about a TV show based on the Playstation series of "Twisted Metal" games.

#432 - Eric Andre, Battle At Big Rock, and Disney Plus

Hello Chu-bies! After we dip into Chuck's Work Woes (part seven in a series of infinity), we somehow get on the topic of Rip Van Winkle - we try (and fail) to remember the story, then try (and fail) to glean meaning from it. Chuck tells me about all the shows and movies coming to Disney Plus this fall and we try (and fail) to remember the plot of the movie "Camp Nowhere." We talk about the Jurassic World short film "Battle At Big Rock" and how it ties into the Jurassic-verse. We discuss the film Eighth Grade and Chuck tells me about a new (to him) restaurant in town. We briefly talk about Chuck's articles on veganism, then he tells me about a cool magazine party he went to. I discuss how I tried (and failed) to get tickets to an event I was super excited about, then tell him all about last week's Providence Improv Fest. We close with Chuck describing the Eric Andre live show he went to over this past weekend - sounded great!
