#363 - Cook and Dagger and the Sum 41 "Does This Look Infected?" Anniversary Tour

We start out the show by plugging a bunch of stuff about ourselves - upcoming shows, our social media (@bradrohrer and @discountchuck), then talk about this weekend's forthcoming "Punk In Drublic" show in Brockton, MA. Once that's out of the way, Chuck tells me all about Cook and Dagger's new menu and it sounds pretty amazing. If you weren't hungry when you started listening this week, you will be. We go from there to Chuck describing the Naked Comedy Show at Improv Boston, then we discuss naked mole rats for a long time (the segue is obvious). I talk about my affection and enthusiasm for the new Frank Turner album, then talk about the new improv theater - Ad-Lib Comedy Theater - opening in Cranston, RI. Once that is through, we talk at length about Sum 41's set on Tuesday night at the Boston date of their "Does This Look Infected?" 15th anniversary tour. Spoiler alert: they were amazing. And once we finish gushing over that, Chuck and I tell the story of his band's experience playing the pre-show party for Sum 41 and how our night went - parking, the rain, the sound, and the controversy.
Finally, we cut to backstage at the Senior Discount / Diablogato / Tsunami Bomb show, where Senior Discount bassist Abe Correia tells us his experience at the Sum 41 show. The rest of the band joins us as we joke and cackle well-past the two-hour mark.

Episode 325: Rancid + Dropkick Murphys, Senior Discount Attacked, and Chuck Almost Drowns!

After the normal social media plugs, we talk about the below Web Couliers. After that, we talk at length about Disney's new streaming service (that starts in 2019) and try to figure out how we are going to consume visual media in the future. After that, Chuck reads selections of a review of Senior Discount's new album. I have no skin in this game; if someone doesn't like the music, that's a valid opinion. That having been said, this is a dumb review and we spend some time marveling at the dumbness of it. Once we get that bile out of our systems, we talk about some Chuck birthday celebrations, then our trip to see Rancid and the Dropkick Murphys in concert. Chuck tells me the story of his kayaking misadventure and I am suitably impressed. We talk about seeing the Lion King in theaters, and close with compliments for Chuck's birthday dinner at Cook and Dagger!

Episode 313: A Friend's Departure, Motif Music Awards, and Master of None

Back to basics this week, as it's just Chuck and I recording. We talk about the below Web Couliers, then the news that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is being held for ransom by hackers. Doesn't that seem odd? We talk about WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil being sued for a prank gone awry, then Chuck gushes about season 2 of Master of None. We talk about our pal Wes moving back to Ohio, then offer a spoiler-free review of "The Fate of the Furious." Chuck tells me about some restaurants in the area, then we banter about our experience at the Providence Motif Music Awards where Chuck was surprised to win Best Pop Punk Band 2017 with Senior Discount. We close out the week by talking about recently filming at the Providence Public Library with lead dude from ska-band The Copacetics; Matt Di Chiara! A (rare) short episode!
