#537 - Chuck and Brad Go To Ohio!

We went to Ohio! Wow! And we are legally prohibited from telling you the EXACT reason we were there, but we can talk about the trip itself! How did we miss a flight? Which of us did his best to get us added to the no-fly list? How much cheese is too much cheese? All of this and more (but not so much that we violate our NDAs)!

#528 - Chuck Goes to the ER, Brad Goes to Indiana, and Smodcastle Opens!

After a disgusting discovery about our spam filter, we jump right into the past few weeks of adventures. Chuck tells me about his trip to New Hampshire and we debate the merits of floating in tubes down a very slow river. I talk about my trip back to Indiana and time spent with the family. Chuck tells me about his mystery ailment and the efforts he made to get it diagnosed. He also reveals his ableist side! From there, I learn about Chuck's time in New Jersey over the weekend, doing filming for a ton of show's at Kevin Smith's new Smodcastle! Also filming with the TESD guys! Wow!

#517 - Parking Morality, Fast Food Innovations, and More Appreciation For Borat

I botch our intro, but Chuck saves the day with a lengthy aside. We discuss the morality of parking in reserved parking spaces after-hours. We go through some listener emails and talk about the future of the pod, new media, merch, then get off on a tangent about fast food. It is a lengthy tangent. We talk about the trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Vin Diesel's Rock 'Em Sock'Em Robots project, and Chuck tells me about a bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff from Borat 2. We close with a discussion of Chuck's recent Jersey trip and filming with the TESD guys.

#474 - Clone High, Chuck Goes To New Jersey, Brad Goes To Indiana

We start this week by working through a ton of news. We talk about the release date of Halloween Kills, the song Jurassic Park by Stand Atlantic, and news about a new game in the Metal Slug series. We talk about Conan O'Brien moving his show to the Largo, then get excited for the continuation of the animated show Clone High. The Tony Hawk Pro Skater documentary has a release date in August, Seth Rogen has a movie releasing soon and is in talks to be involved with the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! We talk about the lawsuit against Netflix for having an "emotional" Sherlock Holmes, a new podcast about The Office, then close our news section with a quick talk about the Battletoads reboot. We then compare weeks - Chuck went to New Jersey to film for Tell 'Em Steve-Dave, I went to Indiana to hang out with my family and eat a surprising (or not-that-surprising) amount of pizza.

#462 - Onward, Comfort Viewing, and The Joy Of Being Early Adopters

We filmed this week! And we're joined (via satellite?) by our good pal, comedian/documentarian Ray Harrington! We riff on Chuck's now-constant use of "Sopranos" references as he makes his way through the series. A listener email spurs me to share my thoughts on The Gaslight Anthem, and we all discuss how we feel about liking things that then suddenly get super popular and why we feel that way. We debut our new segment "Quaranteeny Victories" - small things we accomplished because of the lockdown. Chuck offers an apology for a technical snafu on the last two podcasts, then tells us about the Roast of Rich Vos available on YouTube. He also explains Project 88 - Back to the Future Too. We discuss our feelings about the Disney/Pixar film Onward, as well as some Jack Black projects. We discuss the idea of "comfort food" media and name some examples from our own lives. Chuck closes the podcast with a report of an adorable squabble with his girlfriend Gina. It's a very fun conversation!

#458 - Chuck's Behind-The-Scenes Look at Independent Filmmaking

Sure, sure, we mention COVID-19 to start (and I'm including it here for SEO purposes), but the meat, potatoes, AND dessert of the episode is Chuck giving the lowdown on his gig filming for the podcast Tell 'Em Steve-Dave. We give background on the podcast, how Chuck got involved, and then Chuck relates the story of his most recent trip to Jersey to film with the guys. There are absolutely ZERO spoilers in this episode for TESD projects - but Chuck DOES tell an amazing door about an intoxicated gentleman causing havoc in a chicken restaurant (not related to filming), so there's that. A fun look at what REALLY goes on for Chuck's work!

#451 - Behind The Scenes of Filming "Restaurant: Impossible" at Perella's Ristorante

Whoa mama! We are joined by Gina Mastrostefano this week as we welcome in our very, very special guest - Lou Perella! Lou played a pivotal role in the recent episode of the Food Network's show "Restaurant: Impossible," as the "impossible restaurant" in last week's episode was Lou's father's business! Right here in lil' ol' Warren, Rhode Island: Perella's Ristorante! Lou has grown up working at Perella's, he played a pivotal role in the episode, and he gives us the whole behind the scenes story, from talks with the producers well ahead of time to meeting celebrity chef Robert Irvine, to Lou's feelings during the reveal of the renovated restaurant (and the culinary world in general). We love "Little Lou," and after hearing this episode, we guarantee you will too. (NOTE: Not an actual guarantee.) - Brad

#434 - Between Two Ferns, It Chapter 2, and the Rubsam and Horrmann Brewery Launch Party

We are back! We kick things off by recommending a new podcast from our pals - check out The Hoof when you get a chance! We talk about the Between Two Ferns movie currently running on Netflix, then I tell a story about maybe accidentally being present for the filming of what was possibly a fetish video. A quick chat about a recent video game night, then Chuck tells me all about filming the opening of Rubsam and Horrmann brewery, run by Impractical Joker Brian "Q" Quinn. Chuck enchants me with tales of the food at the Cambridge Brewing Company, then we talk about the screening and Q&A for the show Undependent - directed by our pal Ray Harrington, edited by Chuck, starring Ray and another friend Derek...good stuff! We close the show with (first) a spoiler-free discussion of It: Chapter Two. We then make it very clear when the spoilers will begin, and we fully break down the entire movie!

#426 - The Lion King, Chuck Visits Jersey, and Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood

The lovely and talented Gina Mastrostefano joins us this week! We discuss what our fans should be named and can't come up with much. From there, we talk about The Lion King (2019) and live-action storytelling of animated films in general. Chuck tells me all about their weekends in New Jersey and how they made him feel creatively. We talk about what foods are appropriate to bring into a movie theater, then get into the main event. We offer a spoiler-free review of the new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood. After we share our thoughts thusly, we make it clear we're going into spoiler territory and then more fully discuss the film.br> - Brad

#373 - Chuck Goes To Vulgarthon! (Fixed!)

Chuck is the focus this week! He went to work at Vulgarthon - a Kevin Smith-curated film festival in Red Bank! Chuck was doing some filming for the TESD guys and experiencing the finest things Red Bank had to offer! He recaps the day and talks about finally getting the chance to meet - as a peer - Kevin Smith! Wow! Way to go, Chuck!
In addition, we had a joint birthday party with our pal Lou last weekend - and we took the podcast equipment with us! You can catch a brief snippet of the festivities in this episode, along with a plug for the full audio online!
- Brad
Note: The original version of this episode was uploaded with a fifteen second clip of me clearing my throat, because I'm an idiot. This has been fixed in this new upload! - Chuck

Episode 313: A Friend's Departure, Motif Music Awards, and Master of None

Back to basics this week, as it's just Chuck and I recording. We talk about the below Web Couliers, then the news that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is being held for ransom by hackers. Doesn't that seem odd? We talk about WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil being sued for a prank gone awry, then Chuck gushes about season 2 of Master of None. We talk about our pal Wes moving back to Ohio, then offer a spoiler-free review of "The Fate of the Furious." Chuck tells me about some restaurants in the area, then we banter about our experience at the Providence Motif Music Awards where Chuck was surprised to win Best Pop Punk Band 2017 with Senior Discount. We close out the week by talking about recently filming at the Providence Public Library with lead dude from ska-band The Copacetics; Matt Di Chiara! A (rare) short episode!

Episode 209: Origin Stories, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Filming with Senior Discount

The 209th episode of the podcast finds Chuck and Brad joined by the incorrigible Abe Correia and the intolerable Eric Maksood. After some Brad and Senior Discount Updates, the guys discuss the below Web Couliers in great detail. Once that is done, they discuss the recent announcement of Fast & Furious 8, as well as Aziz Ansari's new deal with Netflix to produce an original comedy.
They talk about a new animated Spider-Man movie and debate whose origin story is more widely-known: Spider-Man or Superman? There's some talk about a TV movie about Grand Theft Auto and the controversy that has surrounded the games, as well as the plans for Brad, Chuck, and Maksood to see the Fat Wrecked tour. Chuck promotes the Chris Jericho-starring web series Nothing To Report, then the guys ponder furniture with induction chargers built in. There's some back-and-forth about Matt Skiba permanently (?) joining blink-182, as well as a long conversation about Green Day being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Finally, the four amigos talk about filming the most recent Senior Discount video. Maksood gives his account of going from fan to actor, and Abe talks about going from bit player to actual character. Chuck laughs at his own jokes.

Episode 204: Bickering in Relationships, American Sniper Libel, the Joys of Filming, and Fixing Chappie

Episode 204 begins with Brad correctly introducing the podcast on the first try. After some Senior Discount and Brad updates, the guys talk about bickering in relationships and how that works and looks. From there, it's a brief discussion on anger and how the guys demonstrate that (with a stirring example from Chuck's home life). Chuck has Movie Driplets about Super Troopers 2 and a new Lego movie.
Podcast Pal Patrick Dennis wrote himself a letter a few years ago, and the guys take a somber look at the letter as they broadcast Patrick's private thoughts to the world. Also...what's up with the new Nintendo console? Chuck and Brad move on to a topic frequent listeners enjoy - their understanding of the law, as they discuss the libel case brought by Jesse Ventura against "American Sniper" Chris Kyle.
Happier topics include T-Mobile's announcement of Music Freedom, and the free music streaming offered by the carrier. Also, who are some of the characters in the new Mortal Kombat game? There's some speculation between C&B about which character will die in Avengers 2 before they move on to discussing their own filming project and the glee they are taking in it. Finally, Chuck and Brad debut a new segment called "Chuck and Brad fix..." and use that segment to discuss, spoil, and fix the movie "Chappie."

Episode 115: The Green Jello Saga, Penn & Teller, and Xbox One

Episode 115 begins with Chuck discussing the events surrounding two recent Senior Discount shows. It is complicated and sad, as many things tend to be. The podcast takes an upturn as the boyz discuss their trip to Connecticut to see a Penn & Teller show (although the circumstances surrounding that are complicated and sad).
From there, the rest of the podcast deals with the announcement of the new console from Microsoft, the Xbox One. What does Chuck think of the "no backwards compatibility" portion of the announcement? Check out the podcast and find out! (But seriously, he hates it.)
