#493 - Chuck Gets Blackmailed, The Greatest Showman, and Weirdos At Thanksgiving

Chuck and I are back! We start out with an update on the latest video Chuck completed for Tell Em Steve-Dave and Chuck is PSYCHED about it. I talk about my progress in sitcom class, then we read an email from a listener Down Under! It's only slightly injurious to my pride! Chuck tells me about the WNUF Halloween Special, then we talk about the 2020 release of The Invisible Man. Chuck tells me about his Halloween celebration, which concluded with him watching the documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door. We segue into some COVID talk and speculate about the vaccine giving me superpowers. Judd Apatow has a movie going straight to streaming, and there's a podcast documentary series coming soon about David Cross. We talk about the Darkwing Duck reboot, then things take a dark turn. Chuck is being blackmailed by a scammer! Will we all soon receive videos of Chuck's private moments? Things turn back around as Chuck gushes about his recent watch of The Greatest Showman, then we talk about The Prestige. And our final topic of the evening concerns Thanksgiving - should you invite strangers to your meal (in normal years) and if so, what is the correct ratio of weirdos to your normal group?

#471 - Palm Springs, Quarantine TV Episodes, and The King of Staten Island

We are audio-only this week! We talk about that for a lil' bit, then Chuck tells me about new podcasts from Chris DeMakes and Mike Birbiglia. We discuss the trailer for the upcoming film "Palm Springs" and time-loop movies in general. We get hyped for the upcoming HBO documentary "I'll Be Gone In The Dark." We talk about the 30 Rock special coming out in a few weeks and talk about the impermanence of quarantine episodes. Chuck tells me about a Disney d23 special that is not what he thought it was, and ends up talking about "Prop Culture" on Disney+. We talk about some movies we watched this week, and Chuck talks about his parents' recent car accident as well as his recent doctor's visit. Disgusting. I talk a little bit about my church talent show. We offer a spoiler-free review of the new Judd Apatow movie "The King of Staten Island," then make it clear when spoilers will start, then offer our spoiler-full thoughts on the film!

We start out with our feelings on the Black Lives Matter movement. Spoiler alert: we support it. After that, Chuck claims that people often say "I'm lactose" when they mean "I'm lactose intolerant" and I am NOT having it. Chuck shares some lil' stories from his past week including losing a credit card. We discuss the Frank Turner/NoFX split album coming out in July, then talk about the upcoming Judd Apatow-produced George Carlin documentary. Chuck tries to get me excited for some new Metal Slug games, then we speculate about casting additions to the MCU. I talk about movies I've watched recently, including Hell or High Water. Chuck raves about his renewed love for This Is The End, then offers thoughts on Zombieland 2. He tells me about starting the show Breaking Bad, then we close with a quick discussion about his new car and look to social media to find out if other people are cool with "I'm lactose."

Chuck enlightens us on the glory and wonder that is "Android Auto" (in his new car stereo system).
