#532 - Chuck's Birthday Weekend, Mold-mania, and Woodstock '99

After a quick reminder about the upcoming show at the Comedy Connection (August 15th!), we respond to some listener emails. A lot of Would You Rathers, now that I think about it. We then talk about Chuck's birthday weekend and a surprisingly busy party day for us (as guests). From there, we relate the sad story of our friends in Austin dealing with mold...and then a student at my college dealing with it. And then ONE OF US PERSONALLY DEALS WITH IT! We close with a discussion about the recent HBO documentary about the Woodstock '99 Festival and everything that went wrong there.

Episode 324: War for the Planet of the Apes, Judd Apatow Live, and 2-Person Stand-Up

We kick off this week with another update on the Recycling Rascal/Blue Bin Bill. I love it; Chuck does not. We talk about Daniel Craig returning as James Bond, and Matt Groening taking his talents to Netflix. We discuss (spoiler-free) the new movie War for the Planet of the Apes and how we felt about it. We then talk about our trip to The Grange in Providence, then the jaunt down the street to see Judd Apatow do some live stand-up. We follow that with a discussion about our own adventures in stand-up, as we recently performed a set on stage at the same time. Chuck tells me about his birthday trip to see Hans Zimmer conduct music from his many soundtracks live, then we talk about some birthday festivities for Chuck and for Lou. It's a busy week!

Episode 275: Flight of the Conchords, Stand-Up Review, and Canobie Lake Park

After some Chuck and Brad updates, we talk about some news! We chat about the Netflix Marvel Universe and what we're excited about, then Chuck gets REALLY excited for the trailer for Kong: Skull Island. Chuck tells me about John Cena being cast in an HBO mockumentary about cycling, then about Joe Carnahan writing the Uncharted movie. There's a Blair Witch sequel coming out, as well as a remake of...*sigh*...Pumpkinhead.
Fans of Chuck's squabbles will be delighted to learn that this week, he's upset again, and he's setting his sights on a company going out of business. We talk about the new singles from Against Me! and Green Day, as well as Michael J. Fox appearing on stage with Coldplay.
Once the news is done, we look back at our past few weeks. We went to see Flight of the Conchords, Chuck went to Vermont, Chuck talks about the foam party last week's guests played, then we get to a weekend of stand-up. We both performed Saturday night, then I went up on Sunday as part of the Last Comix Standing. We talk a lot about what worked and what didn't, although I tend to focus on more of the latter. Then we discuss our group trip to Canobie Lake Park before Chuck tells me about his birthday at the Mystic Aquarium! We have been busy!

P.S. After the podcast, Brad LOST HIS SHIT about the Pumpkinhead remake!!!!!

Episode 242 - WWE TLC, Hateful Eight, and The Force Awakens

*NOTE: We apologize, but there is some static throughout this episode. We're very sorry, we're using all borrowed equipment, including a mixing board where we're unable to monitor the recording as well as normal. Really sorry, promise we'll be back on track soon!*
Episode 242 finds the guys joined by Perennial Podcast Pal Lou Perella. The three cool dudes start by promoting some upcoming projects, then Chuck talks about one of the below Web Couliers. Chuck then reads a prepared message about a shift he is undergoing in regards to some of his personal philosophies. It is sad. The guys attempt to bring the mood back up with a discussion of their shared Christmas at the Perellas'. Chuck drops in a factoid about Guitar Hero Live and Avenged Sevenfold, then segues beautifully into a recap of his recent trip to Disney World for some festive fun.
Chuck and Brad regale Lou with tales from the WWE TLC event in Boston and how crazy it was (the other Web Coulier below). They discuss the recent Quentin Tarantino film Hateful Eight, then - after a brief tangent on birthdays, anniversaries, and relationships - get into Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A brief yet triumphant spoiler-less review, then spoilers abound as the guys discuss the whole movie. Including the part where *think of joke about a movie plot point that was once spoiled and put it here and people will love it*

Episode 171: "Now We Know What a Steak Fry Is."

Episode 171 finds Chuck and Brad joined by their celebrity doppelgangers, as Wade Bernier and Brian Decoteaux join them for some rousing discussions. C&B talk about their trip to a recent Against Me! show in Providence and talk about the energy of the evening. The discussion continues with talk about recent Marvel movie "Guardians of the Galaxy." Chuck talks about the "birthday show" that Senior Discount performed in, and about how the pod pals brought their recording set-up to allow Chuck's friends to record birthday wishes all night (to be posted at the end of this episode).
Chuck talks about his recent visit to Boston Comic-Con to visit Patrick and shop, and Brad talks about going to visit Patrick and resent crowds. The boys then fill in Wade and Brian on the recent show Chuck played with Kris Roe of The Ataris. Was Kris a good guy, or just another celebrity looking to make Brad feel bad?
Finally, Chuck and Brian talk about a disturbing night they had with forty middle-aged men and two strippers. It's pretty gross - even by our lax standards! This is one of the most sexually graphic podcast stories we've done. You've been warned!
Once that is out of the way, the podcast gives way to some more positivity, as the birthday wishes that were wished to Chuck at his birthday show are added on to the episode and shared with the world. Such sweet messages could only be meant for one man.

Episode 94: Chuck's Birthday and The War On Clutter

Chuck and Brad open the show - the second show in a row - with a discussion about birthdays. This time the focus is on Chuck's birthday and the events around it, including a faithful recollection of the amazing gifts Brad bought and created for Chuck.
Once they've successfully praised Brad's largesse, they move on to discussing physical media versus digital media, and how limited storage space has led to Brad declaring a "war on clutter" and getting rid of some old movies and games, and wondering what to do with this book collection. The two wise men discuss advantages and disadvantages of physical/digital forms of each type of media and declare who is winning the war on clutter.

Episode 93: Birthdays and The Dark Knight Rises

Chuck and Brad open the show with a discussion about birthdays. Brad, having just celebrated his, talks about the meaning behind the medium used to wish someone a happy birthday. They discuss Brad's party and Brad's friends who ignored his birthday.

The talk then moves to a very different place, as the capeless crusaders delve into the recent film "The Dark Knight Rises." They discuss the entire plot, getting the scenes MOSTLY in order and talk about their favorite and less-favorite moments of the movie. Chuck reveals how many times he teared up during the movie - the answer may shock and awe you!
