#386 - Halloween 2018
We are joined this year for our annual Halloween episode by our pal Ray Harrington. We open (somewhat incongruously) with a long discussion of comic strips and their appeal. We plug some upcoming shows, then Chuck recaps our Halloween season so far, including Chuck and Ray's Vermont trip and some fun movies we've seen. We segue into a discussion of horror movies and stories that have stayed with us long after the stories end. We discuss the new Halloween movie and also try to convince Ray to watch the Paranormal Activity series. After that, Chuck and Ray try to convince me to watch Eli Roth's horror documentary. Chuck tells a bizarre story from his youth that relates to a current political race in the area. Ray tells us about his experience with Halloween as a youth and how the relationship has changed up to and including fatherhood. We revisit the topic of horror stories that have stayed with us. Chuck talks about the original Pet Sematary movie and reveals Gina's amazing detective skills, then we close with a discussion about adapting novels to movies.

#385 - The Nightmare On Elm Street Saga - Part 2
(Note: Part 1 has the first six Freddy films.)As we've done the past few years, we have chosen a horror movie series to watch. We then recap the series to our non-horror-loving pal, Brian Lau! This year found Chuck and I making our way through the Nightmare On Elm Street Universe. In this episode, we talk about our feelings on the final three films - Wes Craven's A New Nightmare, Freddy versus Jason, and the 2010 reboot of Nightmare on Elm Street. Whoa mama! We talk about the underlying logic of the series and how well that's explained, we ask B Lau pointed questions about how he would react in given situations, and recap and learn more about these films! Chuck and I offer our feelings on the franchise as a whole and try not to spook B Lau too much!

#384 - The Nightmare On Elm Street Saga - Part 1
As we've done the past few years, we have chosen a horror movie series to watch. We then recap the series to our non-horror-loving pal, Brian Lau! This year found Chuck and I making our way through the Nightmare On Elm Street Universe. In this episode, we talk about our feelings on the first six films - the original, Freddy's Revenge, The Dream Warriors, The Dream Master, The Dream Child, and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. Geeze louise! We talk about the underlying logic of the series and how well that's explained, we ask B Lau pointed questions about how he would react in given situations, and recap and learn more about these films! (Note: Part 2 will have the final three Freddy films.)

#383 - The Robin Hood Complex
Hey hey hey! We hear more about Chuck's recent trip to Vermont and the terror of mountain roads and no GPS. I talk about the movie "The Witch" and we talk about exorcism and ghost movies. From there, I talk about some heist stories I've read recently and heist stories/movies in general. Finally, we talk about surprise parties and how to make them successful. It seems like a short description, but I promise there's a lot of chatting!

#382 - Chuck's Editing Workload, Venom Financials, and Suicide Squad 2
As Chuck gets set for an exciting road trip to Vermont, we talk about his recent editing workload for Tell 'Em Steve-Dave. We talk about the recent "dropkick" incident between Insane Clown Posse Member Shaggy 2 Dope and Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst. Yes, it's 2018 and this is in the news. We talk about the financials for the new Venom movie as well as Banksy's recent painting-shredding performance. Chuck explains The Umbrella Academy, a new show coming to Netflix, then the announcement of Fight Club 3 coming out next year as a graphic novel. We talk about James Gunn writing and directing the Suicide Squad sequel and how hyped we now are for that. I begin to tell Chuck a story about a weird coincidence I experienced this week and he tells me that it is not a coincidence and my week is ruined. We close by talking about one small (and gross!) medical issue and a quick recap of Chuck's Halloween decorating party.

#381 - Wasteland Pins, PG-13 Deadpool 2, and A Frustrating Day For Chuck
A relatively short episode! Chuck tells me about the cool pins he got from Wasteland Pin Company, then we talk about the below Web Coulier. We discuss the news that Deadpool 2 is going to be re-released as a PG-13 film and what that means for the future of the franchise. Chuck walks us through his frustrating day and we marvel at the tiny things that added up to make it such a weird headache of a day. That's about it. Personal stuff! Woo!
