#489 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Recap (Part 1 of 2)

It's time for a classic Chuck-and-Brad Horror Series Recap! Self-Proclaimed "Chainsaw Chicken" Brian Lau joins us for our retelling and summation of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. Some of them were actually good! You can hear me get annoyed in this episode, but you *didn't* get to hear Chuck assure us just before we started recording that we could fit all 8 movies into one episode! In any event, we cover The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. The first four of the 8 movies in the Chainsaw-niverse!

#436 - Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Stephen King and Joe Hill, and Happy Death Day

Live in studio this week is our pal Lou Perella! We talk about the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot showings and Chuck waxes nostalgic about Kevin Smith. After that, we discuss the Stephen King & Joe Hill talk that Chuck and I went to last week, as well as the delicious meals we had surrounding it (and yes, maybe we touch on my shrieking fit at Chuck in the car on the way to the event). Chuck tells me about the movie "Us," and I talk about the (first?) two movies in the Happy Death Day saga. We briefly touch on another movie we recently saw, then gush about the talent on display at the Roger Williams Zoo Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular. Chuck talks about some autumn hikes he's recently taken, then we close with a talk about rooting for artists both personally and professionally.

#401 - Hereditary, Chuck's Frustrating Eye Doctor Visit, And A New Look At Titanic

Just Chuck and Brad this week! We talk about The Incredibles 2 and our feelings about other Disney/Pixar movies, then I try and explain my feelings about the decidedly-NON-Disney film "Hereditary." Pretty spooky! From there, we talk a little bit about health concerns before Chuck relates the tale of his terrible trip to the eye doctor (and we discuss the merits of giving fake names to people on the podcast). Chuck tells me about a fancy meal he had this weekend (I didn't mention my frozen pizza dinner, but rest assured that's what I had). He tells me about a trip to the Mystic Aquarium and the restaurant "The Engine Room" in Mystic. From there, we talk about the movie Titanic, and how Chuck felt about it after his most recent re-watch of the film. Oh, and I tell an old embarrassing story about visiting a crush at work. I'm so ashamed.
Closing the show this week is fellow Paper and Plastick artist Blow Fuse with their song Angry John!

#386 - Halloween 2018

We are joined this year for our annual Halloween episode by our pal Ray Harrington. We open (somewhat incongruously) with a long discussion of comic strips and their appeal. We plug some upcoming shows, then Chuck recaps our Halloween season so far, including Chuck and Ray's Vermont trip and some fun movies we've seen. We segue into a discussion of horror movies and stories that have stayed with us long after the stories end. We discuss the new Halloween movie and also try to convince Ray to watch the Paranormal Activity series. After that, Chuck and Ray try to convince me to watch Eli Roth's horror documentary. Chuck tells a bizarre story from his youth that relates to a current political race in the area. Ray tells us about his experience with Halloween as a youth and how the relationship has changed up to and including fatherhood. We revisit the topic of horror stories that have stayed with us. Chuck talks about the original Pet Sematary movie and reveals Gina's amazing detective skills, then we close with a discussion about adapting novels to movies.

#385 - The Nightmare On Elm Street Saga - Part 2

(Note: Part 1 has the first six Freddy films.)As we've done the past few years, we have chosen a horror movie series to watch. We then recap the series to our non-horror-loving pal, Brian Lau! This year found Chuck and I making our way through the Nightmare On Elm Street Universe. In this episode, we talk about our feelings on the final three films - Wes Craven's A New Nightmare, Freddy versus Jason, and the 2010 reboot of Nightmare on Elm Street. Whoa mama! We talk about the underlying logic of the series and how well that's explained, we ask B Lau pointed questions about how he would react in given situations, and recap and learn more about these films! Chuck and I offer our feelings on the franchise as a whole and try not to spook B Lau too much!

This year found Chuck and I making our way through the Nightmare On Elm Street Universe. In this episode, we talk about our feelings on the first six films - the original, Freddy's Revenge, The Dream Warriors, The Dream Master, The Dream Child, and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. Geeze louise! Episode 339: Jackass: The Game, A Chuck-Posal for Brad, and Thor: Ragnarok

We're back, baby! Our first Non-Halloween episode in a while! We also have a Lego (compatible) Giveaway! Oh papa! We read some listener emails and discuss "Jackass: The Game." We talk about the below Web Couliers and I admit to being frightened of a pretty bad old horror movie. Chuck reads a press release for an alternative to Rhode Island Comic-Con and we talk about the weird world of receiving press releases and how we treat them. We talk about the possibility of Marvel acquiring some film rights from 20th Century Fox and what that would mean for the MCU. Chuck gives an in-hand review of MoviePass (mine has been ordered) and we talk about the future for the service.
Chuck gets real for a moment and talks about a big switch he's making in terms of careers and creativity and I lament my diametrically-opposite work situation. We talk about being accepted to submit jokes through the Pitch app (and make a legally binding agreement to submit more often). Chuck offers some "Chuck-posals" for next year's Halloween podcasts. Chuck then tells me about his recent trip to New Hampshire with Gina's family. I tell the story of my not-great improv workshop experience, then about seeing Taylor Leonhardt at a house show over the weekend. We then give our SPOILER-FREE review of Thor: Ragnarok. Once we've completed that, we offer our spoiler-full review as well. But if you haven't seen the movie, we make it very clear where the change occurs, so feel free to listen!

Episode 336: Dissecting All The "Leprechaun" Movies

Awwwwwww yeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh! It's time to recap another horror series! This time, Chuck and I recap the entire "Leprechaun" series for guests Lou Perella and Brian Lau. We review plots (such as they were), acting choices, behind-the-scenes trivia, and offer our opinions on all six original Leprechaun films AND the reboot! Where else can you find such joy? Here's a hint: Not in the Leprechaun movies.
This episode also features our first Lego-related giveaway!

Episode 331: We Might Get in Trouble for This One (and a Spoiler-Free Review of "It")

We're joined once again this week by our pal Lou Perella. We start out by giving our spoiler-free thoughts on the new "It" movie. Chuck then follows it up with a surprise for me and Lou. Chuck met a man at his recent yard sale, and the man was so interesting, Chuck felt compelled to record the conversation without the man's conset, and share it with us (and the podcast audience). Once we get through that (quite frankly) bizarre encounter, we then offer a spoiler-full review of "It" to close out the episode.

Episode 287.5: The "Friday the 13th" Saga - Part 2

This week is one of our famous "movie saga recap" episodes (really just a continuation of last week. We are still joined by Brian Lau, and we tell him the story of the rest of the Friday the 13th movies. Plot recaps, fun trivia, our personal opinions - it's all there. This podcast covers Friday the 13th parts 7-10, plus Freddy versus Jason, plus the reboot. Just a reminder to Mr. Voorhees - we've never been to Crystal Lake, but Im pretty sure B Lau said he could beat you up.

Episode 185 - Our Florida Adventure - Part 2

This is part 2 of a 3-part episode. Recently, Chuck and Brad went to Florida with some of their pals. Let's lay it on the line here - this week's series of episodes that are more for the superfans of the Chuck and Brad Podcast, as they are basically the audio equivalent of home movies. Not the most exciting, hilarious or erotic series of episodes - just the recording of a good vacation with some good friends. This podcast is the middle section of that trip. Here are some "exciting" highlights: covering a night at the Magic Kingdom, daytime shenanigans Kissimmee and an evening at Universal Studios.
This episode was recorded while still on the trip, while still in the townhouse we rented in Florida. Chuck and Brad were joined on this journey (both literal and figurative) by podcast mainstays Lou Perella and Patrick Dennis, as well as newcomer Sarah Reynolds. Much fun is had at everyone's expense.

Episode 98: Cabin In The Woods, Chuck's Trip to "Fetish Night"

Chuck and Brad chit-chat a little bit before diving into a big topic this week - the upcoming blu-ray release of "Cabin In The Woods." Spoilers abound in their discussion, but both handsome studs agree that this is a great movie that you should totally see.
Once they spoil the whole movie and gush over how much they enjoyed it, Chuck relates the story of going out in Providence to "Fetish Night." Brad is bewildered and a little disturbed by Chuck's description of the Fetish Night crowd. The boys mention a few books they are reading/have read recently and then sign off for the week.
