#382 - Chuck's Editing Workload, Venom Financials, and Suicide Squad 2

As Chuck gets set for an exciting road trip to Vermont, we talk about his recent editing workload for Tell 'Em Steve-Dave. We talk about the recent "dropkick" incident between Insane Clown Posse Member Shaggy 2 Dope and Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst. Yes, it's 2018 and this is in the news. We talk about the financials for the new Venom movie as well as Banksy's recent painting-shredding performance. Chuck explains The Umbrella Academy, a new show coming to Netflix, then the announcement of Fight Club 3 coming out next year as a graphic novel. We talk about James Gunn writing and directing the Suicide Squad sequel and how hyped we now are for that. I begin to tell Chuck a story about a weird coincidence I experienced this week and he tells me that it is not a coincidence and my week is ruined. We close by talking about one small (and gross!) medical issue and a quick recap of Chuck's Halloween decorating party.

Episode 279: Confrontational Comedy, Summerslam, and the blink-182 Concert

We are joined this week by local goofballs Lou Perella and Gina Mastrostefano. Chuck kicks things off proper by sharing some late-developing thoughts about Suicide Squad and its marketing. Does a trailer using "Bohemian Rhapsody" convey a certain tone or set of expectations? After that, Chuck tells Lou (and you?) about the Eric Andre show. Yes, we're like four seasons late to the party, but at least we got to the party! We all talk about Comedy Central's Roast Battle (from last month) and roast comedy in general. Speaking of comedy, we also break down our night performing stand-up at the Wheel House in Narragansett - our first bar show!
Chuck tells me about his weekend beach experience, I tell him about mine. We discuss Summerslam 2016 and the ending to the Brock Lesnar/Randy Orton match.
Finally, we talk about going to see Blink-182 in concert last week. On top of that, we assemble our "ideal" Blink-182 concert setlists and debate the merits of each. Fun reminiscing!

Episode 276: Our Suicide Squad Review

We're joined this week by Mike Florio (AKA: Pancake) and Eric Maksood. The original plan was a short review of Suicide Squad, then a bunch of talk about old Senior Discount stories with our guest, Pancake. But plans never really work the way we want them to, and this episode is all about Suicide Squad. We offer a non-spoiler review, then it's nothing but spoilers from there on out...so you can at least listen to the first part of it, right?

Episode 219: Comic-Con Trailers, Pay to Play, and The Story of Rob

Episode 219 of the C&B P-C kicks off with special guest Rob Courtemanche joining the guys in the studio. After some updates concerning upcoming shows, the guys discuss the passel of trailers that came out at Comic-Con this past week. They dish about Deadpool! They squawk about Suicide Squad! They BS about Batman vs Superman. They, um, move their lips about X-Men: Apocalypse? Finally, Chuck dives into Hugh Jackman's revelation about Old Man Logan being the third and final standalone Wolverine film and what that means to him personally. The comic stuff taken care of, the three pals talk about some recent "pay to play" controversy in the Rhode Island music scene and their feelings thereon.
After that, the interview portion of the podcast commences. Chuck and Brad pepper Rob with questions about his musical history and Rob unearths some dynamite stories from his involvement with the bands Bad Larry, Turning Blue, Verbana Darvell, Danger Room, Paler Ghost and The Pogs! They talk about art and music and touring and Xboxes. It's a great conversation, sure to be continued when Senior Discount plays out on July 31st!
