#569 - Chuck's New Gig, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Our Dr. Strange Review

Chuck has a new job! He's filming with yet another big-time comedian and finally spills the beans about it on this episode. This text is just a teaser so you listen to the episode! We also discuss the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer and Chuck is way more psyched about it than I am. Big surprise! We then offer up spoiler-free thoughts about Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After making it VERY clear when spoilers are about to start, we then offer up opinions on the whole movie!

#566 - Pitch Doctors: Spider-Man - No Way Home

The goal for this episode was for Chuck, Brad, and special guest Ray Harrington to pitch their OWN ideas for expanding the Spider-verse to celebrate the digital release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. And that happens! I mean, we take QUITE the detour to start the episode, but we each come with ideas (some more sincere than others) on how Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movie universes could have become part of Tom Holland's Spider-man story in the MCU. We also discuss our favorite spider-moments and spider-guys through the years. As always, recording with Ray was a blast...even if we drifted away from the topic at hand more than once.

#548 - Chuck Loves Hawkeye, Brad's Memory Lane, and The Deli Encounter

We start out by welcoming my new Secret Santa pals to the podcast, as I'm certain they're listening. Chuck accuses me of plying him with alcohol in a bit that I hated immediately. Chuck talks about the move to Staten Island. He waxes ecstatic about the Disney Plus series Hawkeye, which I am not caught up on. Our ecstacy wanes as we discuss the MCU movie "Eternals." At that point, we remember we need to plug our upcoming shows at Smodcastle and the Comedy Connection. Chuck tells me about Ghostbusters: Afterlife, then we talk about the effects of his COVID diagnosis. From there, I talk about my trip to Indiana and the discovery of notes from a high-school sweetheart. Chuck then talks about a possible new sweetheart he encountered at the deli counter at the supermarket near his Staten Island place. We then close with a new segment called "Staton Island," where Chuck talks about how he spends his time at his place in New York to make the lonely hours seem less lonely.

#520 - Chuck's Road Rage, Getting Spite Spiced, and Frank Five Day

We start out this episode discussing a near-collision while Chuck was driving. Thankfully, he avoided damage, but were his actions following the incident warranted? We talk about the plan to re-release the TESD Town History episode before Chuck's TESD Tapes Debut on the TESD Patreon. We discuss couch shopping and getting the stench of spoiled(?) milk out of Chuck's car (this is unrelated to his precision driving mentioned previously). We went out to eat and Chuck sent food back and his new entree was significantly spicier - did he get "spite spiced" by the kitchen? A brief chat about Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I briefly review The New Mutants, Tenet, and Birds of Prey. Chuck then regales me with tales of his trip to Jersey for the Tell Em Steve-Dave celebration known as Frank Five Day!

#517 - Parking Morality, Fast Food Innovations, and More Appreciation For Borat

I botch our intro, but Chuck saves the day with a lengthy aside. We discuss the morality of parking in reserved parking spaces after-hours. We go through some listener emails and talk about the future of the pod, new media, merch, then get off on a tangent about fast food. It is a lengthy tangent. We talk about the trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Vin Diesel's Rock 'Em Sock'Em Robots project, and Chuck tells me about a bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff from Borat 2. We close with a discussion of Chuck's recent Jersey trip and filming with the TESD guys.

#504 - Listener Emails, Closing the Secret Stash, and WandaVision

We kick things off with some listener emails! Chuck and I share stories from our time working retail and the ridiculous things we did and dealt with. How did Chuck almost die? Listen and find out! We read a controversial email that infuriates Chuck and tickles me. We pull back the curtain about ad sales. All kinds of stuff! From there, Chuck relates the story of his recent trip to New Jersey to film the final days of Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash before its move down the street. We close with a discussion about WandaVision on Disney Plus and share what we thought about the first two episodes!

#486 - Borat 2, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, and Jamie Foxx as Electro (Again!)

We start off this week, of course, by not really remembering or understanding Rumpelstiltskin. What a weird story. Chuck puts the finishing touches on his tale about working for Kevin Smith and filming the live Jay and Silent Bob Get Old Tenth Anniversary show a few weeks ago. We talk about the movie The Box and whether or not we would push a button that gives us a million dollars (and causes someone else's death). Conan O'Brien has signed a new deal with Audible and we discuss what that means for podcasting. We discuss our feelings about Borat and the Borat 2 trailer. Chuck tells me all about the movie Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, which leads to discuss about scare pranks in general (and in specific). We close this week with a discussion about Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro in a future Spider-Man film - will this be part of a multiverse for the Marvel movies, or is it just a unique casting decision?

#467 - Gear Woes, The Invitation, and Streets of Rage

We start out this week by joking about some health woes? Will Chuck die from carpal-tunnel syndrome? Maybe! But don't tell him I said anything! We talk about Mark Normand's new comedy special premiering on YouTube, then Chuck talks about his hunt for a new camera and the struggles that go into it. We then discuss movies we've seen recently, including Stuber, Hotel Artemis, and Arkansas. We both watched The Invitation and talk at length about that as a thriller. Chuck drops some news about future Deadpool movies, as well as a possible Community movie. We talk about Scream 5 and our experiences with the Scream series. We close this week by talking about our attempt to beat the first three games in the "Streets of Rage" series (which came out between 1991 and 1994). Were we able to beat the notoriously difficult third game? Listen and find out!

#422 - Spider-Man: Far From Home, Our Independence Weeks, and Stranger Things 3

Big talk this week! Chuck and I haven't talked to each other in over a week! We talk about weird things that happened today including a call center employee going off on me over the phone! We talk about our shows together in Hartford and East Providence and all the events surrounding them. After that, I regale Chuck with my tale of family time back in Indiana and he tells me about changing traditions out here in Rhode Island. Once we are caught up on our weeks, we discuss Stranger Things season 3 (no spoilers), then give a spoiler-free review of Spider-Man: Far From Home. After a very clear warning, we then launch into a spoiler-full discussion of the film and include everything we liked and didn't like. But most of it is like.

#414 (REMASTERED) - Blockbuster Culture, Delicious Burgers, and How Would We Do In Prison?

**This episode has been remastered. The first upload had subpar quality for the ads during the ad swap game, and that has been fixed!**
We are joined this week by Dylan the Intern, which is always a blast. After we plug our upcoming shows, we discuss blockbuster culture and how that affects the future (and present) of cinema. Once we finish up there, we sing the praises of RI Food Fights' Big Burger Blowout. We review the Boundary Brewhouse, The Hungry Goat's Kitchen, and Bucktown. Chuck brags about us finishing the game Rescue Rangers (originally for the NES) this afternoon. Chuck explains the Netflix show "Jailbirds" to me and I am fascinated. We also continue to play the "Ad Swap" game with other podcasts and it remains a ton of fun.

#405 - Talking To Middle Schoolers, Is Chuck A Hero?, and Captain Marvel

In this week's episode, Chuck and I talk about our recent trip to a local middle school to talk about podcasting last week. It was a fun time. In a less-fun turn of events, Chuck witnessed an elderly woman falling and talks about the aftermath.
After a break to, you know...see the movie, your heroes (Chuck and Brad, now with JORDAN FURTADO in tow) come back and offer up a SPOILER-FREE discussion of Captain Marvel. Once our thoughts on the spoiler-free front are suitably explained, we then offer up a spoiler-full review of the movie and talk about how it feeds into the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Episode 339: Jackass: The Game, A Chuck-Posal for Brad, and Thor: Ragnarok

We're back, baby! Our first Non-Halloween episode in a while! We also have a Lego (compatible) Giveaway! Oh papa! We read some listener emails and discuss "Jackass: The Game." We talk about the below Web Couliers and I admit to being frightened of a pretty bad old horror movie. Chuck reads a press release for an alternative to Rhode Island Comic-Con and we talk about the weird world of receiving press releases and how we treat them. We talk about the possibility of Marvel acquiring some film rights from 20th Century Fox and what that would mean for the MCU. Chuck gives an in-hand review of MoviePass (mine has been ordered) and we talk about the future for the service.
Chuck gets real for a moment and talks about a big switch he's making in terms of careers and creativity and I lament my diametrically-opposite work situation. We talk about being accepted to submit jokes through the Pitch app (and make a legally binding agreement to submit more often). Chuck offers some "Chuck-posals" for next year's Halloween podcasts. Chuck then tells me about his recent trip to New Hampshire with Gina's family. I tell the story of my not-great improv workshop experience, then about seeing Taylor Leonhardt at a house show over the weekend. We then give our SPOILER-FREE review of Thor: Ragnarok. Once we've completed that, we offer our spoiler-full review as well. But if you haven't seen the movie, we make it very clear where the change occurs, so feel free to listen!

Episode 321: Chuck's Recycling Feud, Spoiler-Free Spider-Man Review, and a Spoiler-Full Spider-Man Review

We are joined by our pal Lou Perella this week! We start by discussing an odd situation Chuck encountered with a neighbor. This man has an unhealthy interest in Chuck's recycling habits, and trespasses on Chuck's property repeatedly while Chuck isn't home. The final straw is a 2 AM encounter that leaves Chuck very unhappy. Lou and I do nothing to help. It's wonderful.
We then offer a spoiler-free review of the new film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Once we finish that spoiler-free take on things, we go deep into spoiler territory and talk about every aspect of the movie. It's a lot of fun whenever Lou stops by, and this week is no exception!

Episode 320: Venom in the MCU, the SNES Classic, and Zoobilee 2017

Back in the studio again this week! Chuck and I talk about the new Jurassic World movie and wildly speculate about the plot. We then speculate about the plot of "Jigsaw," the new film in the "Saw" franchise. We then turn our attention to the news that the status of Venom in relation to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and continue our wild speculation about whether our symbiotic pal will make the leap to the MCU and how that could work. From there, we talk about the SNES Classic and whether or not it is worth a purchase. I defend the 16-bit game "Bubsy." We talk about our recent few weeks, including Senior Discount's show with the Toasters, an extended behind-the-scenes (from our points of view) of the Reel Big Fish interview(s). Chuck and Gina relate the story of Roger Williams' Zoobilee 2017 to me - Zoobilee being an annual fundraiser for the Roger Williams Zoo that features food from dozens of Providence restaurants and also Chuck messing up the mojo of the on-site band. We finish with a new segment that we brainstorm on the podcast and have fun doing so. Fun week!

Episode 260: Our Super Official Captain America: Civil War Contest

We are running a contest this week! While we aren't official characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yet), that doesn't mean we can't celebrate its existence. And we do so with a ten-question quiz sprinkled throughout the episode. Answers can be submitted before Tuesday, April 26 at 11:59 via chuckandbrad@gmail.com. The episode starts with some Movie Driplets about the next Spider-Man movie, then I explain to Chuck the writers of another shared cinematic universe that has us scratching our bulbous heads in confusion, like apes confronted with a medium-difficulty Sudoku. Chuck then enlightens us with a housefire update about the person charged with stealing a check from the dumpster outside his burned-out house. We celebrate our pals Lou and Laura moving to Rhode Island, and then talk about Chuck's move to Providence for the summer.
Chuck then talks a little about the Senior Discount show last Wednesday, then talks about going to the Skylar Grey show in Boston. Brad provides an update to episode 257 for those of you concerned. There's a new entry or two in our Jurassic Snark feature, then we recap the questions and decide on a time frame for you to respond in! "What's so civil about war anyway?" - Axl Rose, I think.

Episode 198.5: Micro-Cast - Spider-Man Joins the Marvel Universe!

WOW! The first ever "micro-cast" of the Chuck and Brad Podcast! With a Senior Discount show canceled, the boys take advantage of the free night to record their thoughts on Spider-Man being enfolded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The microcast starts with Chuck, Brad, and Maksood calling Patrick to talk about the upcoming 200th episode of the podcast, and the contest between Patrick and Maksood. After that, Maksood teaches Brad about Tinder and Chuck reveals the message that "Maksood" sent to a woman online - gross, Maksood.
After that? All Spider-Man, all the time. Let's hear the news and the opinions!
