#514 - Our "Godzilla" and "King Kong" Pitches

Whoa mama! Ray Harrington joins us this week, which means y'all are in for a great time! Chuck starts out the episode by breaking his own rules about what is and isn't history in our lives. We briefly discuss the 1998 Godzilla film and Ray offers some suggestions on how to fix it. We discuss catheter usage versus diaper usage, then we get to our pitches. I then offer my take on the classic franchise. Ray follows with several fantastic ideas, then Chuck steps up. It is something that could truly only come from the twisted mind of Chuck Staton.

#368: Sweet Babylon's New Album and Our Jurassic Park Show

We are joined this week by Kyle and Lenny from the band Sweet Babylon! After we plug some upcoming shows, we talk with the Babylonians about NOFX cancelling all their domestic tour dates. After that, we review Chuck's trip to Boston Calling to see Eminem perform. We discuss the movie Action Point, then talk about Senior Discount playing at PVDFest and the Good People Doing Good benefit show in the same day. We talk with Sweet Babylon about their new album and their upcoming show, then Chuck and I talk about our recent Jurassic Park-themed show at the Comedy Connection. Chuck tells us all about hosing the Providence Motif Food Truck Awards and we all get to thinking about how good food is. There's a little more nonsense as we close, but what's a little nonsense between pals?

#367: Snob Vs Cob: Jurassic World

We are joined this week by stand-up comedian Ray Harrington! After some plugs for our show this Thursday, Ray and I get on the topic of the Bill & Ted films, and our shared affection for them. And with the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom this week, Chuck and Ray discuss their feelings on the first one, as well as why they felt that way. They discuss screenwriting, metaphor, the scariness of dinosaurs, and I get to bask in the hilarity of their conversation. We finally get to a point where we're wrapping up the show, and then remember to discuss the online harassment/bullying Chuck experience this week and what an appropriate response to it would be.

Episode 213: Jurassic Park, Recapping the Mad Max Saga, and Mad Max: Fury Road

The 213th installment finds Chuck and Brad welcoming back their pal Brian Lau for a discussion. There are the typical updates to start the show, then a discussion of some of the below Web Couliers. The guys recap the recent showing (for friends) of Jurassic Park on the projector in Chuck's backyard. Brad goes through the trivia questions he wrote and reads some of the best answers. Chuck talks a little bit about Memorial Day, then the guys dive into the main course.
Brian Lau had never seen the first three Mad Max movies. Chuck and Brad try to recap the films for Mr. Lau. It does not go smoothly. Hear about the series' changes from 1979's Mad Max through the end of the 1985 film Beyond Thuderdome.
The guys then discuss the 2015 film "Mad Max: Fury Road" and talk about their feelings on the summer blockbuster. After a thorough spoiler-free discussion of the film's merits, the guys banter a little more before signing off for the evening.

Episode 111: Jurassic Park, Green Day, and our heroes' pasts

This week's episode of the Chuck and Brad podcast finds Chuck and Brad joined by local roustabout Mat Fairchild. The three open the conversation by discussion past incidents of "pantsing," both as pantsers and pantsees. Chuck gives a Senior Discount update and a Web Coulier, listed below. After Brad waxes enthusiastic about the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde, the boys discuss creative ventures in various stages of development.
Chuck brings some news driplets to the table - Comic Book Men, the Bad Boys 3 announcement, and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. After that, the meat of the podcast has teeth sunken into it [Editor: There has to be a better way to word that, you idiots.] They discuss a recent trip to see Jurassic Park in 3-D IMAX. Much merriment is made at Brad's expense. Once the raptor calls die down, Chuck and Brad talk about their recent experiences involving Green Day - seeing the band perform live in Providence and watching the recent Cuatro! documentary from the band.
Chuck then brags about some videogame accomplishments that are literally so astounding they can not be put to print. He then talks about the recent movie Spring Breakers and gives his thoughts on the film. All three of the hosts this week talk about their first encounters with illicit substances, then the conversation turns back to popular culture, as Chuck and Brad talk about the Mick Foley and CM Punk DVD's. The conversation ends with an in-depth discussion of the plotline of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the upcoming X-Men movie.
