#463 - Chris Graue, the Amazing Johnathan Documentary, and So-Bad-They're-Good Movies

We start out this week with a quick greeting, and then dive into a Skype interview with our pal Chris Graue. Chris has directed music videos and promo videos and any other needed video things for a huge number of punk and ska bands. We talk with him about his start and his involvement in the music scene. What a good dude! After that winds up, we are joined by another good dude - Ray Harrington! We discuss some comedy and improv news (Seinfeld! Oswalt! Middleditch/Schwartz!), then riff on the Doogie Howser, MD reboot on Disney Plus. We then discuss Ben Berman's Hulu documentary on The Amazing Johnathan. A fascinating film! After a quick toss to RI Food Fights' own Jim Nellis, we discuss some films I watched recently that weren't great. This leads me to ask the question "When does a movie go from bad to so-bad-it's-good?" A fun discussion follows!

#429 - A Q&A With Dave McWane

We might get some new listeners this week - welcome! We talk briefly about our days/weeks, then Chuck tells me about a new product he bought. I think it's asinine and he tries to convince me otherwise. (I'm not convinced.) After that ridiculousness, we talk about the recent screening of "Pick It Up: Ska In The 90s" in Somerville, MA. We tell the story behind our night, then throw to a Q&A recorded after the screening with Dave McWane from Big D and the Kids Table. He's a smart dude!

#423 - A Q&A with Scott Klopfenstein and Coolie Ranx

Ska fans rejoice! We attended a screening of "Pick It Up: Ska in the 90's" to host a Q&A with Scott Klopfenstein! Yes, the dude from Reel Big Fish and the Littlest Man Band! It gets better! We also had Coolie Ranx from the Pilfers join the Q&A! And we RECORDED that Q&A for you!!!!!! Wow! After I tell Chuck a brief story about a scam I recently pulled (and "scam" may be stretching it), we tell the whole story of how we got involved with the movie/Q&A/show. We talk about our trip to and from Brooklyn and also discuss road trip etiquette! Super fun talk and that's just LEADING UP to the Q&A!!!!!!

#377 - The Cranking and Skanking Festival, WBRU Summer Concert Series, and "Searching"

Back in the studio this week. We plug some upcoming shows, then get into movie driplets - the Venom movie MIGHT have Tom Holland show up, Dave Bautista isn't happy with Disney, then a few other things I forgot to write down. After that, we talk about Chuck's band playing the Cranking and Skanking Festival in Worcester with Big D and the Kids Table, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Bouncing Souls, and so many others! From there, Chuck tells me about his band (finally) playing one of the nights on WBRU's Summer Concert Series. We close by talking about the new movie "Searching" and how much we both enjoyed it. Spoiler alert: a lot.

#376 - The Story Of Big D And The Kids Table

Whoa mama! This week finds us talking with David McWane, lead singer of long-running ska/punk band Big D and the Kids Table! We talk with him about his start in music, the career arc of the band, and what creativity can look like. We touch on his books of poetry, as well as his work with modern-day doo-wop group The Doped Up Dollies and thrash band Cuidado. Personal note: this was such a good talk and we're delighted David was willing to spend so much time with us.

#368: Sweet Babylon's New Album and Our Jurassic Park Show

We are joined this week by Kyle and Lenny from the band Sweet Babylon! After we plug some upcoming shows, we talk with the Babylonians about NOFX cancelling all their domestic tour dates. After that, we review Chuck's trip to Boston Calling to see Eminem perform. We discuss the movie Action Point, then talk about Senior Discount playing at PVDFest and the Good People Doing Good benefit show in the same day. We talk with Sweet Babylon about their new album and their upcoming show, then Chuck and I talk about our recent Jurassic Park-themed show at the Comedy Connection. Chuck tells us all about hosing the Providence Motif Food Truck Awards and we all get to thinking about how good food is. There's a little more nonsense as we close, but what's a little nonsense between pals?

Episode 164: The Story of Glen and Short Handed Goal

Episode 164 of the Chuck and Brad Podcast finds the guys with another guest in studio - Glen Marshall, of local ska-punk band Short Handed Goal. After some promotion for the upcoming Guttermouth show (featuring both Senior Discount and Short Handed Goal on the undercard, along with several other awesome local bands), the guys talk a little bit about a listener email and share their thoughts on Wii U stuff. They also talk about the below Web Coulier and their sheer childlike wonder at the enduring popularity of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
From there, C&B turn their attention to G, and get the story of not only his band - Short Handed Goal - but also his history with music, his takes on songwriting, and a very special Chuck Staton moment from Glen's past. It's an action-packed hour or so on this week's episode - enjoy!

Episode 150: The Story of Matt and the Copacetics

Episode 150?!??! Wow! The sesquicentennial episode of Agreeing to Disagree is based chiefly around an interview with Matt Di Chiara, the lead singer for local ska band The Copacetics. Before the guys dive into the interview, though, we get Senior Discount updates and some updates about projects Brad is working on. After that, they discuss the below Web Coulier, before going into some of Chuck's famous Movie Driplets concerning a possible director for the "Uncharted" movie, a remake of Chip N' Dale's Rescue Rangers, and a musical based on Back To The Future.
The guys start talking with Matt about his background as an artist. What led him to music, and to ska music in particular? How does he look at being in a band? What does he think about the local scene? How has art (and specifically music) helped him throughout his life? An engaging look at an incredibly nice human being.
