#404 - Brad's Physics Problem, Equality In Friendships, and The New TESD Videos

We start out this week with a very long tangent about equality in friendship - a subject we continue to try and figure out! I seamlessly tie in a plug for our sponsor, then we work on some listener emails about book recommendations, predatory behavior, hypnotism, and the app Discord. I tell Chuck about an annoying problem I had at church last weekend and he laughs himself sick at my expense. He then tells me about the new Coodle Pillow, as well as a trip to see Kevin James do stand-up at the Comedy Connection in East Providence. Chuck then pulls back the curtain on two new Tell 'Em Steve-Dave videos - Episode 400.1 and Makin' Haystory! Crazy!
Closing the show this week is Paper + Plastick Records' artist Divided Heaven with their song Home For The Summer!

Episode 340: Tattoos, The Galactic Theatre, and John Mulaney Live

Somehow, we keep this one relatively short. After creating a mascot for Thanksgiving (you're welcome), Chuck and I discuss what tattoos we would force the other person to get. This discussion is all over the place. After that, Chuck tells me about the Galactic Theatre, a new venue in downtown Warren, and the experiences he had there. We review the Dark Tower movie, then quickly move on to our review of John Mulaney's recent performance at the Boston Symphony Hall. After that, Chuck and I break down our friendship and creative partnership in an open, vulnerable, and hopefully still entertaining way.

Episode 293: Chuck and Brad's Chris-Match - TLC: Tinsel, Laughter, and Cheer

This is one of our favorite episodes ever.

We got together with six of our friends (giving us eight voices), then four more friends (as judges), then one final friend (as a sound mixer) and had a wonderfully crazy competition between Brad's Team and Chuck's Team in a winner-take-all series of Christmas games for the ages! Team names, Christmas trivia, ruining Christmas movies, insulting poems, the first and last time we'll ever play "What Celebrity's In My Bed?" on the podcast, a song parody battle between Maksood and Christian, confessing shameful secrets to Santa, and Christmas Deception! Wow! That took a long time just to type! Seriously, this is probably the most fun we've had on the podcast and the first time we've tried something with this many pieces. It is so, so, so, so fun.
Guests include: Abe Correia, Fawn Correia, Michayla Currie, Jordan Furtado, Brian Lau, Eric Maksood, Gina Mastrostefano, Olivia, Christian Staton, and Sam Staton. Sound engineered by Sean Murphy. Merry Christmas!

Episode 228: Black Mass, Improv Fest Recap, and What Makes A Good Friendship?

The 228th episode starts with updates from C & B, and honestly...not a lot of projects on the immediate horizon for our heroes. Wait, is an immediate horizon a thing? Can we trademark that as an album title? Chuck follows the updates with some movie driplets regarding a possible (?) Sinister Six movie for real, the new American Idiot documentary, and news about sequel(s) to Prometheus.
The guys went to see the new movie Black Mass earlier this week - what did they think? Hear them break the film down! From there, Chuck tells Brad the story of the most recent Senior Discount show. Brad then recaps his experience at this year's Providence Improv Fest. Did he make new friends who thought he was special?
The podcast closes with a long discussion. This is spurred by Chuck telling the story of a friendship that dissolved, and the guys talk about what makes a good friendship, and how to avoid feeling let down. It's a sobering discussion.

Episode 134: Insecurities and Song Meanings

Episode 134 of the Chuck and Brad Podcast kicks off with some scintillating Senior Discount updates, as well as a plea from Brad to come see some improv shows.
Brad talks about a recent trip back to Indiana, and a realization that occurred to him while he was there - sometimes, he can be a pretty funny guy. C&B talk about why he doesn't feel like this all the time, and that discussion segues into a talk about creating art and not finding it appreciated.
That art discussion somehow (really, I have no idea) meanders into talk of organization, of keeping records of texts, calls, chats, etc. From THERE, the guys jump to song meanings, and discuss songs by the Misfits, Lagwagon, Senior Discount, and Lemon-Lime Tennis Shoes.
