#515 - Chuck's Creative Steps!

We kick this week off with some listener emails! Should Chuck have suspected foul play in his recent coffeeshop misadventure? We talk about the below Web Couliers, then Chuck talks about the exciting things he's been up to recently. Filming and editing the big Tell Em Steve-Dave/Smodcast crossover episodes. Starting to work with Tuesdays With Stories. Possibly getting an office? As all this is going on, he suffers a mystery injury and worries deeply about his immediate and long-term future. He actually films with the Tuesdays guys, eats at the delicious restaurant J22 in Jamestown, RI, then (spoiler alert) goes all-in on the office. Sure, moving him in went smoothly, but how did actually setting everything up go? We then discuss the likelihood of Chuck being attacked by creatures when working alone in his office at night. I offer a paltry celebration for my paltry achievements and we talk about being above- or below-average in different areas of our lives.

#451 - Behind The Scenes of Filming "Restaurant: Impossible" at Perella's Ristorante

Whoa mama! We are joined by Gina Mastrostefano this week as we welcome in our very, very special guest - Lou Perella! Lou played a pivotal role in the recent episode of the Food Network's show "Restaurant: Impossible," as the "impossible restaurant" in last week's episode was Lou's father's business! Right here in lil' ol' Warren, Rhode Island: Perella's Ristorante! Lou has grown up working at Perella's, he played a pivotal role in the episode, and he gives us the whole behind the scenes story, from talks with the producers well ahead of time to meeting celebrity chef Robert Irvine, to Lou's feelings during the reveal of the renovated restaurant (and the culinary world in general). We love "Little Lou," and after hearing this episode, we guarantee you will too. (NOTE: Not an actual guarantee.) - Brad

#372: Guardians of James Gunn, Venom, and Motorcycle Ponderings

We offer some Chuck and Brad updates, then somehow get talking about Airborne tablets as well as speculating on how much vitamin C is in Hawaiian Punch. We eventually figure that out, then move onto some movie driplets. We talk about Joss Whedon not knowing what to do with Thanos, as well as the merger between Disney and 20th Century Fox. We discuss the Venom movie at length, then chat about the Guardians of the Galaxy cast's statement about the firing of James Gunn from Volume 3. After that, Chuck tells me about a new amazing restaurant in Providence, then we discuss the safety of motorcycles and how that impacts the world.

#348 - The Story of The Malted Barley

Recorded on location at The Malted Barley in Providence, RI. We are joined this week by Malted Barley owner Ron Koller and a rotating cast of staff members at The Malted Barley - Brian, Cory, Rich, and Kolby. We learn about their roles and stories, and how they fit into the larger story of Ron traveling the country to open a craft beer specialty restaurant. How did he decide on Providence, on the location, on the menu? Listen and find out, baby! AND THEY DROP THEIR NEXT STEPS ON US AS WELL WHAT WHAT!!!!
