#573 - Chuck Films with Drew Barrymore, Brad's Curious Correspondence, and Everything Everywhere All At Once

We kick things off with listener emails - should we accept gifts? Brad tells a wacky work story and we try to figure out if it is a prank. We discuss our approaches to dating and what level of putting ourselves out there is appropriate. Brad talks about the Conan (the Cimmerian) books and we try to figure out why so many Tuesdays with Stories listeners come at Chuck online. Chuck talks about his experience filming with Mike Birbiglia and Drew Barrymore. We recap our experience with the Rogue Island Comedy Festival in Newport and wax enthusiastic about a Memorial Day Cookout. We offer our spoiler-free thoughts on the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once and then, after making the delineation point very clear, launch into a full review of the whole movie.

#570 - Brad's Terrible Spine Surgery Adventure

That's right, Brad had spine surgery also! What a copycat! Before he breaks that down, though, we answer questions that listeners sent in, including insights on dating and more Patreon ideas. After that, Brad tells the story of his surgery and recovery period and we both giggle like idiots about using anti-bacterial wipes on unapproved body parts.

#391 - Us The Duo, Gift Ideas, and the Avengers: Endgame Trailer

We start with a long aside about Chuck having to return a gift that I was a part of for him a few years ago. I find old emails about the scenario and laughs are had. We plug our upcoming comedy show and Chuck tells me about his appearance on another podcast and we question whether he came across as a dick. We then talk about dating relationships and how they are complicated in 2018. We talk about the Avengers 4 trailer, then Chuck tells me about the new Us The Duo Christmas special on Amazon Prime. After that, we discuss gift-giving philosophies and tips for this time of year. We close with a discussion about the NVIDIA Shield and how well it works for old video game emulation.

Episode 230: Movie Endings, College Memories, and Festive Activities

Episode 230 begins with some standard Chuck-and-Brad updates, then the guys delve into the news about Marvel looking at making a lot more of their one-shot film projects. The dudes are appropriately stoked. From there, Chuck tells Brad about Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001) and the confusion about the ending of the movie, as well as how the studio explained the ending to viewers who were left scratching their heads. Like apes. Chuck regales us all with tales of his anniversary night with Gina, then talks about some Open Mic nights he's been to recently. This somehow segues to Brad talking about guilt he feels from a college project that was literally over fifteen years ago. C&B really get into sharing some stories about their times in college. Chuck talks about his trip to NYC to see "Aladdin" on Broadway, then they talk about the "Turtle Hunt" - a daylong trip to track down and obtain some important Halloween decorations. The guys also got to see Monday Night Raw - what moment gave Brad goosebumps?

Episode 177: Deadpool movie, Tusk, Friendship?, and Story Brainstorming

The 177th edition of the C&B P-C starts with the typical show announcements from Brad's improv group and Chuck's band - competing shows on the same night! Wow! Chuck then tells Brad some exciting movie news about an upcoming Deadpool film, and our two heroes talk about a particular plot device in the Captain America: Winter Soldier movie and what it may mean going forward. Once future movies are done being discussed, Brad and Chuck talk about their recent trip to see the new Kevin Smith movie "Tusk." What did they think? Listen and find out!
Once the Walrus talk is through, Brad reads an interaction he had online with a lady and talks about how he feels the interaction indicates a lack of interest in him as a human being. The guys talk about that at length, diving into Brad's current pessimism headfist! Woo! But, trying to take this potential negative and turn it to a positive, Brad talks about a short story idea he has and runs it by Chuck and the two try to flesh it out into something a little more...good.

Episode 172: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chuck's Relationship Views

The one hundred and seventy-second episode of A2D begins with updates about Brad's future improv plans and what Senior Discount is working on. Once the pleasantries are dispensed with, Chuck shares some exciting news about the upcoming film The Ring 3, the Lonely Island movie, and Kevin Smith's next project (which has Johnny Depp involved!). Following those movie driplets, Chuck and Brad review the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. What did they think of Michael Bay's involvement? Who else could have played the Shredder**? How was Will Arnett's performance? These important questions - and more! - are answered.
Following the discussion about CGI and stunts in movies that ends the previous section, Chuck gets personal and talks about relationships and his recent views on them. The boys discuss how they feel about dating and what it means to be single, to be in a relationship, and whether or not relationships are worth it. Some unflinching honesty from our two heroes this week.

** - It's Brad. And he calls himself "The Bradder."

Episode 151: Dating Insecurities and Argument Styles

Episode 151 gets right into it with some Senior Discount Updates from Chuck, followed by some Brad Updates by Brad. The two then chat about last week's interview segment and plans for the podcast going forward. Chuck talks about the original plan for this week's episode and how it went off the rails, which leads into a discussion of Chuck's argument style. Hear Chuck and Brad reminisce about beautiful arguments in the past!
From there, Brad talks about re-entering the dating game, and how his beard is giving him confidence. They talk about where to meet new people, bar culture, approaching a woman at Target - you know, essential things for dating. From there, Brad asks Chuck about flirting with cute girls online - is he a schmuck like any other guy hitting on these girls? If the girl is in a relationship, what kind of flirting is okay? Does it matter if you know the guy? 21st century questions, finally answered in one place.

Episode 135: "An Affair Gone Awry" and Halloween

The 135th episode of the Chuck and Brad Podcast finds the boys joined in "studio" by local villains Brian Decoteaux and Nic Hallenbeck. After all four pimp their own projects (Bands! Comedy! Other Stuff!), Chuck begins telling a tale so terrible it could only be told in the spookiest month of the year!!!!! SHIVER with terror as Chuck spins a yarn of dating a twenty-one year-old in the modern world! QUAKE with fear when you learn about the illogical ways in which this young lady acted! Your SPINE with TINGLE when you hear about a heartbreakingly frigid response to a beautifully honest and well-written letter! (We're talking PERFECT grammar, here!!)
Once the guys are done wetting themselves, they talk about some Halloween topics, including the movie "Hocus Pocus" (and which witch they'd bang), Sexy Costumes (and which sexy costumed girl they'd bang), then the idea of sexy costumes for the four of them...as well as some more realistic costume ideas. They also talk about the "pumpkin takeover" of the autumn season and yearn for the simple days gone by, when apple was the flavor of the masses. They finish by talking about festiveness and how important it is to keep the spirit of Halloween alive in your heart all throughout the year and forever.

Episode 131: Jamaican Strippers, Dating, and 180's

Chuck and Brad are joined by local hooligan Mat Fairchild on episode 131 of the C&B P-cast. As this is continued from the previous week, there may be a bit of jarring transition for loyal listeners.
In any event, this episode starts out with Chuck and Mat telling a story about an encounter with a Jamaican stripper. This is a NEGATIVE interaction with a stripper, very different than Chuck's normal interactions with women who take their clothes off for money.
It gets a little more somber, as Chuck talks about a dating relationship gone awry. The guyzos talk about doing "180's" on different issues in their lives. Did the guys ever completely change their stance on something important? Did Brad really do a 270?

Episode 101: Dating, Trick 'R Treat, and Looper

After the joy of Halloween and the horror of a hurricane, Chuck and Brad return to their roots in this episode. Chuck talks about some Senior Discount projects, before going into an update on his living situation and personal life. The boys bandy about ideas for Chuck's dating life, as well as talk about Brad's inability to be part of a couple.

Once all the personal issues are past, the beautiful two(tiful) talk about two movies. The first movie is "Trick 'R Treat," a Halloween anthology movie that Brad enjoyed much more than he thought he would. (The plot of the movie is heavily discussed, so SPOILERS ABOUND.) The next movie is the much-more-recent "Looper," which is also spoiled - what do they think about that?
