#576 - Chuck's Secret Feud, Shredder's Revenge, and Changing Electronic Loyalties

Is the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack properly appreciated? What about Sister Act? We discuss these contemporary conundrums to start things out. Chuck then describes being trapped in the middle of a secret feud and asks for advice. Chuck talks about filming at Smodcastle and his weekend with the Jersey crew. We celebrate the new TMNT game "Shredder's Revenge" and how fun it has been to play. I talk about my nascent voiceover career and then Chuck talks about making the big switch from Android to Apple. I close the episode with a VERY anticlimactic story about someone hacking into my Paypal account.

I promote my friend Sophie's recent BBC4 documentary about love and the human brain. I relate the story of a very quick trip I made to Orlando for my friends' wedding and my foolish mistakes regarding candy on the plane. We close with a quick talk about the Super Bowl halftime show! Wow!

#544 - RI Comic-Con 2021 and Stalling for the Crowd at the Kevin Smith Panel

We were at RI Comic-Con! From being asked to vamp for time before Kevin Smith took the stage to hosting the Clerks panel! Wow! How did we handle the afterparty? Did I actually set a timer on my phone? Don't forget we also hosted panels for Titans and Supernatural! Wow! How could two mild-mannered men do all this on so little sleep?
Closing this episode is our forty(ish) minute set keeping the crowd entertained before Kevin Smith took the stage! Wow! All ad-libbed! Some fun Chuck and Brad magic! - Brad

#437 - The 2019 Turtle Hunt

Every autumn, Chuck and I scour local (and not-so-local) comic and collectible stores to track down our white whales - two of the Universal Movie Monster/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover figures. This is the seventh year we've undertaken the quixotic quest, and the FIRST time we've recorded our chatter in the car DURING the trip! We visit the RI/MA chains The Time Capsule and the Toy Vault, as well as That's Entertainment (Worcester MA), Bargain City Flea (Cumberland RI), Midway Antiques (Johnston RI), and Joff's Backyard Grill (Bellingham MA). We are joined by Lou Perella as we discuss the quest itself, my distaste for grime, our feelings on collectibles and growing up, as well as delicious hot dogs smothered in pulled pork and grated cheese. Chuck and I also bicker about leaving each other's car dirty! Classic banter! Enjoy this very special episode!

#430 - We get In-Depth about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

A unique episode this week! A few weeks ago, we guested on the podcast "Geeking Out With Shades and Sketch" to talk about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movies from 1990 and 2014. We had such a good time and shared so much about the Ninja Turtles in general, we asked Shades and Sketch if we could release the conversation as an episode of OUR podcast as well! So this is it! We talk about how history with the turtles, how we felt about the comics, toys, tv shows, and movies, then break down the "original" live-action film as well as the rebooted 2014 version. A super fun talk!
- Brad
Note from Chuck: During this talk on GOWSAS (please call their podcast "Gow-Sass" from now on), I realized I had never really deeply discussed my feelings about the turtles on OUR own podcast, despite ten years and roughly 650 hours of recording. So I KNEW we needed to put this recording into our "canon." Super happy the Gow-Sass gals (please refer to them as the "Gow-Sass gals" from now on) were down for it!

#428 - Comic Book Men: On the Road, the Nordic Lodge, and Spider-Man's Sony/Disney Split

WHOA MAMA! We start with Chuck giving me a delicious sweet treat as repayments for ninja turtle-related favors! We offer some Chuck and Brad updates, then read some listener emails and discuss possible names for our listeners. Chuck discusses the TESD video "Comic Book Men: On The Road." Chuck tries to convince me to watch some scary movies for the upcoming Halloween and I am somewhat hesitant. We talk about our poker night, our trip to the new restaurant "Union Burrito" in Riverside, then Chuck tells me about the decadent buffet he experienced at the "Nordic Lodge." We talk about recording a Ninja Turtle podcast with our pals at Geeking Out with Shades and Sketch, then going to our friend's "Meatfest" cookout. We close by talking about the split between Sony and Disney regarding Spider-Man. What will this mean going forward?

Episode 332: New Futurama, The Future Of Technology, and "UHF" Live

We're joined this week by local self-proclaimed beauty queen Gina Mastrostefano. We review some listener emails discussing the power of language, a Die Hard Christmas book, the Ducktales theme song in emojis, and a sketch from James Corden. We then duck into movie driplets about an upcoming Jim Carrey/Andy Kaufman documentary and the new Futurama episode (recorded through Nerdist). Chuck tells us about new innovations in wireless charging; this leads to a long discussion about the future of technology and what it will look like and how quickly we'll get there. An unplanned tangent that leads to some really interesting places! Even more interesting than the year 3000? The new Batman/TMNT comic book crossover! We talk about the band "Decapitated" and the charges against them, then talk about Chuck's Nintendo Switch and we all marvel at his Mario Kart prowess. We recount a recent trip to see a screening of "UHF" and Q&A with Weird Al Yankovic, then talk about our time this weekend riding electric bikes around Bristol!

Episode 172: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chuck's Relationship Views

The one hundred and seventy-second episode of A2D begins with updates about Brad's future improv plans and what Senior Discount is working on. Once the pleasantries are dispensed with, Chuck shares some exciting news about the upcoming film The Ring 3, the Lonely Island movie, and Kevin Smith's next project (which has Johnny Depp involved!). Following those movie driplets, Chuck and Brad review the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. What did they think of Michael Bay's involvement? Who else could have played the Shredder**? How was Will Arnett's performance? These important questions - and more! - are answered.
Following the discussion about CGI and stunts in movies that ends the previous section, Chuck gets personal and talks about relationships and his recent views on them. The boys discuss how they feel about dating and what it means to be single, to be in a relationship, and whether or not relationships are worth it. Some unflinching honesty from our two heroes this week.

** - It's Brad. And he calls himself "The Bradder."

Episode 153: The Story of Eric and Soundoff

It's our second "big interview" podcast, as Chuck and Brad delve deep into the twisted(?) mind of Eric Maksood, lead singer of local band Soundoff. Before we get to all that, though, we get updates on Soundoff's upcoming show, a Brad performance update, and some news from Senior Discount courtesy of Chuck. The boys then wax ecstatic about the possibilities of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer, then talk about an April Fool's Day prank perpetrated ON Chuck, that affected him extremely emotionally.
The interview itself starts with a lot of background on Maksood's...uh...background in music. What songs/instruments motifs influenced him? How did that lead to him forming a band? Hear about the lows and highs of his journey through the Rhode Island music scene with refreshing candor and honesty! And also pretty much every band name he's ever encountered!

Episode 140: Christmas 2013!

The 140th episode of the Chuck and Brad podcast is a festive one! It's time for the boys' annual Christmas Podcast, accompanied once again by Eric "Yukon Cornelius" Maksood. The gleesome threesome begin with updates about Eric's band and Chuck's band playing some upcoming shows. After that, Chuck presents an email that was sent in by a special listener and everyone's heart grows three sizes.
Brad and Chuck tell the story behind their Christmas Surprise - a recording of "Holly Jolly Christmas" with alternate lyrics. A link is below, and the song itself is featured at the end of the podcast. Once those beans are well and truly spilled, Eric tells a story about a disturbing lovemaking experience he once had.
Back into Christmas stuff they dive! Headfirst, directly into the subject of the Perfect Christmas Playlist and Chuck's ongoing quest to find it. Once new songs are discussed, Chuck and Eric exchange gifts. Chuck then talks about the DLC for Saints Row 4 entitled "How The Saints Saved Christmas." Brad then talks about how he hasn't really celebrated in the same way as he has during previous years and they talk about why that is. Finally, Chuck recaps VBW Christmas events over the past decade.
