#572 - The Our Father documentary, Morbius, and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)

Ray Harrington joins us this week and we (once again) immediately go off the rails. I talk about blacking out on Ambien and somehow this leads to an extended riff about the JonBenet Ramsey case. Chuck explains the Netflix documentary Our Father to Ray and me and we are suitably appalled. Speaking of appalling, we also watched Morbius. We close with an extended discussion about the new Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers movie and how we felt they executed the pop culture mash-up in 2022!

#428 - Comic Book Men: On the Road, the Nordic Lodge, and Spider-Man's Sony/Disney Split

WHOA MAMA! We start with Chuck giving me a delicious sweet treat as repayments for ninja turtle-related favors! We offer some Chuck and Brad updates, then read some listener emails and discuss possible names for our listeners. Chuck discusses the TESD video "Comic Book Men: On The Road." Chuck tries to convince me to watch some scary movies for the upcoming Halloween and I am somewhat hesitant. We talk about our poker night, our trip to the new restaurant "Union Burrito" in Riverside, then Chuck tells me about the decadent buffet he experienced at the "Nordic Lodge." We talk about recording a Ninja Turtle podcast with our pals at Geeking Out with Shades and Sketch, then going to our friend's "Meatfest" cookout. We close by talking about the split between Sony and Disney regarding Spider-Man. What will this mean going forward?

Episode 217: Appropriate Comedy, Feminism in Jurassic World, and E3 Views

The 217th installment slides into your brain or something this week. After some updates on upcoming shows, the guys discuss the below Web Couliers; well, at least one of them at this time. Chuck provides some movie driplets about the second Guardians of the Galaxy and the second season of Netflix's Daredevil. He throws in an odd story about Jared Leto's Joker from the upcoming Suicide Squad film as well. There's some discussion around The Last of Us 2 for PS4, then the recently announced JK Rowling-written Harry Potter play.
Chuck brings up an article he recently read concerning Amy Schumer's jokes about race. This leads to a deep discussion about what is appropriate in the world of comedy. Many jokes are made. After that, Chuck - who has a masochistic streak to his reading material - brings in another article concerning the allegedly anti-feminist messages of Jurassic World. Given one of the tags for this week's episode is "poor journalism," guess how the guys feel about the author's supposed points?
A few smaller topics follow - a fake plane crash prank done to Paris Hilton divides the guys, and Chuck tries to relay his joy at the Bad Boy reunion on the recent BET Awards. C&B talk about the new Pixar movie "Inside Out" and discuss their enjoyment levels thereof, then close the show by talking about their feelings on the Electronics Entertainment Expo announcements. If you are the guy who sat in front of Brad at the Sony thing, I am sorry I kicked your chair, but still think you're kind of a narrow-minded buffoon.

Episode 163: First Impressions, E3, and Chuck's New Philosophy

This week's episode starts with some lighthearted banter about the boyz' evening dinner plans and how they had to be adapted. From there, we hear about Brad's upcoming improv shows and Chuck/S*D's upcoming rock shows. Chuck then offers some Movie Driplets (TM pending) about the casting of Gambit, the director of Dr. Strange, and the new director for Ant-Man.
Brad and Chuck then discuss first impressions - how hard it is for Brad to make not only positive first impressions, but any first impressions at all. They talk about why that is, what it should be, and how changes can be made. They also joke about the first impressions people have of Chuck and talk about specific interactions that demonstrate certain aspects of Chuck's personality. (They are later joined by Podcast Pal Niki Holden who offers her take on meeting Brad for the first time.) From there, we hear what C&B have to say about the recent E3 event and the announcements by Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony - what games have the guys foaming at their shared mouth?
Chuck then tells Brad (and you, the podcast audience) about a change in his working situation, and how it is designed to inflict maximum enjoyment on him and everyone around him this summer.
