#566 - Pitch Doctors: Spider-Man - No Way Home

The goal for this episode was for Chuck, Brad, and special guest Ray Harrington to pitch their OWN ideas for expanding the Spider-verse to celebrate the digital release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. And that happens! I mean, we take QUITE the detour to start the episode, but we each come with ideas (some more sincere than others) on how Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movie universes could have become part of Tom Holland's Spider-man story in the MCU. We also discuss our favorite spider-moments and spider-guys through the years. As always, recording with Ray was a blast...even if we drifted away from the topic at hand more than once.

#551 - Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye

So many spoilers! We discuss, in-depth, the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as the Disney+ series Hawkeye. We spoil both! Just being up front! Chuck talks about the lead-up and leaks and everything before Spider-Man made its way to theaters. We talk about our experiences seeing it and talk about which parts made us cry. We then break down the show Hawkeye and its place in the MCU and our future Christmas plans.

#535 - WW84, Free Guy, and Chuck's Mystery Diagnosis

Chuck starts out by talking about the idea of "red flag movies," and how the very IDEA makes him see red (I'm sorry). We put that absurd idea to bed, then I tell Chuck about Wonder Woman '84 and my thoughts on that. Chuck tells me about the Ryan Reynolds movie Free Guy and how much he enjoyed it. I then surprise Chuck with a bonus recap of the early-80's film "Up The Creek." I am also surprised I watched it. We answer some listener emails about the Arcade 1-Up, our show recap, and watching a movie sans trailers. That provides a nice segue into a discussion about the trailer for the new Spider-Man film. After we clean up our laps, we talk about the new trailer for "Shredder's Revenge," then the just-release footage from the next Saints Row game. Once we clear out our pop culture brains, Chuck tells me about his trip to the Emergency Room last week and what the doctors discovered living inside him! (Surprisingly, not a Nerf dart!)

#422 - Spider-Man: Far From Home, Our Independence Weeks, and Stranger Things 3

Big talk this week! Chuck and I haven't talked to each other in over a week! We talk about weird things that happened today including a call center employee going off on me over the phone! We talk about our shows together in Hartford and East Providence and all the events surrounding them. After that, I regale Chuck with my tale of family time back in Indiana and he tells me about changing traditions out here in Rhode Island. Once we are caught up on our weeks, we discuss Stranger Things season 3 (no spoilers), then give a spoiler-free review of Spider-Man: Far From Home. After a very clear warning, we then launch into a spoiler-full discussion of the film and include everything we liked and didn't like. But most of it is like.

#413 - Serial Killers, Beyond Wrestling, and Straight No Chaser

Just Chuck and I this week! We give some updates about our own comedy lives and Chuck gives us another update on his puppy, Swiss Miss. We answer a listener email (sort of) before Chuck tells me about the Netflix Ted Bundy film (the Zac Efron one). Now I'm interested in it! Chuck confesses his blind spot to serial killers and their stories and I realize I don't know as much as I think I do. Chuck tells me about his trip to see Straight No Chaser to do some acapella. I tell Chuck about my work doing some recording for Beyond Wrestling. After that, Chuck and I play a guessing game with ads for other podcasts and it goes about as well as you'd hope. And we close by discussing the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer and try and figure out what the movie is going to be.

#397 - Into The Spider-Verse, The Big Short, and Brad's Awkward Date

Just us this week! We start out by talking about the new headset microphones we used on some recent episodes - did you notice a difference? After that, we (finally) break down the recent movie "Into The Spider-Verse" and wax enthusiastic about it. We discuss a local restaurant, then talk about the movie The Big Short. Chuck tells me about the Beatles' movie Help!, then we recap our experience emceeing the 7th Annual RI Food Fights Spectacular Cookie Smackdown! We talk a little bit about my Twitter account and the rules I have set up for my life, then talk about an awkward date I recently had.

Episode 321: Chuck's Recycling Feud, Spoiler-Free Spider-Man Review, and a Spoiler-Full Spider-Man Review

We are joined by our pal Lou Perella this week! We start by discussing an odd situation Chuck encountered with a neighbor. This man has an unhealthy interest in Chuck's recycling habits, and trespasses on Chuck's property repeatedly while Chuck isn't home. The final straw is a 2 AM encounter that leaves Chuck very unhappy. Lou and I do nothing to help. It's wonderful.
We then offer a spoiler-free review of the new film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Once we finish that spoiler-free take on things, we go deep into spoiler territory and talk about every aspect of the movie. It's a lot of fun whenever Lou stops by, and this week is no exception!

Episode 297: Appropriate Joke Targets, Nintendo Switch, and Stephen Lynch Live

We kick off this week with some basic updates, then a recap of an email sent in by one of our favorite listeners. True to form, we stay 100% on subject and contribute no nonsense to the discussion of this email. After that, we talk about the SNL writer suspended for making a joke about the president's son - was it too far? Are other minors in the limelight treated the same way? A real discussion! We come back from that and talk about Alien 5, a new Leslie Mann comedy (those are separate projects, although I would absolutely watch a crossover), as well as Jerry Seinfeld providing new content exclusively for Netflix.
We talk about the below Web Coulier, then the news that there is new music coming from Goldfinger, Blink-182, and the Transplants. Kevin Smith is part of the new Call of Duty DLC, which confuses both of us. We talk about the Nintendo Switch and our impressions of the new console. We talk about the Women's March(es) this past weekend, then review the Stephen Lynch show we saw last week. Was it ruined by drunk idiots? Yes! We discuss our recent stand-up appearances at Comix (there were also drunk idiots there), then Chuck poses a very important and interesting question based in the Spider-Man universe!

Episode 260: Our Super Official Captain America: Civil War Contest

We are running a contest this week! While we aren't official characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yet), that doesn't mean we can't celebrate its existence. And we do so with a ten-question quiz sprinkled throughout the episode. Answers can be submitted before Tuesday, April 26 at 11:59 via chuckandbrad@gmail.com. The episode starts with some Movie Driplets about the next Spider-Man movie, then I explain to Chuck the writers of another shared cinematic universe that has us scratching our bulbous heads in confusion, like apes confronted with a medium-difficulty Sudoku. Chuck then enlightens us with a housefire update about the person charged with stealing a check from the dumpster outside his burned-out house. We celebrate our pals Lou and Laura moving to Rhode Island, and then talk about Chuck's move to Providence for the summer.
Chuck then talks a little about the Senior Discount show last Wednesday, then talks about going to the Skylar Grey show in Boston. Brad provides an update to episode 257 for those of you concerned. There's a new entry or two in our Jurassic Snark feature, then we recap the questions and decide on a time frame for you to respond in! "What's so civil about war anyway?" - Axl Rose, I think.

Episode 209: Origin Stories, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Filming with Senior Discount

The 209th episode of the podcast finds Chuck and Brad joined by the incorrigible Abe Correia and the intolerable Eric Maksood. After some Brad and Senior Discount Updates, the guys discuss the below Web Couliers in great detail. Once that is done, they discuss the recent announcement of Fast & Furious 8, as well as Aziz Ansari's new deal with Netflix to produce an original comedy.
They talk about a new animated Spider-Man movie and debate whose origin story is more widely-known: Spider-Man or Superman? There's some talk about a TV movie about Grand Theft Auto and the controversy that has surrounded the games, as well as the plans for Brad, Chuck, and Maksood to see the Fat Wrecked tour. Chuck promotes the Chris Jericho-starring web series Nothing To Report, then the guys ponder furniture with induction chargers built in. There's some back-and-forth about Matt Skiba permanently (?) joining blink-182, as well as a long conversation about Green Day being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Finally, the four amigos talk about filming the most recent Senior Discount video. Maksood gives his account of going from fan to actor, and Abe talks about going from bit player to actual character. Chuck laughs at his own jokes.

WOW! The first ever "micro-cast" of the Chuck and Brad Podcast! The microcast starts with Chuck, Brad, and Maksood calling Patrick to talk about the upcoming 200th episode of the podcast, and the contest between Patrick and Maksood. After that, Maksood teaches Brad about Tinder and Chuck reveals the message that "Maksood" sent to a woman online - gross, Maksood.
After that? All Spider-Man, all the time. Let's hear the news and the opinions!

Episode 159: Music Videos, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Our Top 30 Superhero Movies

This week's show begins with Brad grousing about something or other, then plugging his upcoming improv show. This leads to Brad and Chuck discussing the upcoming live podcast performance and how excited they are for it - link below. They then discuss the Web Coulier for the music video, which leads into a brief discussion about music videos and their place as art. Chuck then offers one tiny driplet of movie news before the guyzos change topics.
Their trip to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was this past weekend - how did they like it? What did they think about it? What were their opinions? Find out the answers to these and many other questions as they discuss the film, first going spoiler-free and then going spoiler-ful for more than the twelve minutes they promise.
A rare planned ranking exercise finds C&B chatting about their favorite superhero movies of the relatively recent past. Which films line up? Which films differ wildly? And what takes home the top spot for each of our heroes? Just...just listen to this week's episode. I'm trying to write a teaser that hints a little bit at the content without giving too much away. It's never an easy job, and honestly, I'm a little tired right now and can't figure anything clever out. - Brad

Episode 138: Fighting Negativity. Also, Movie News!

The 138th episode of the Chuck and Brad podcast starts innocently enough. Chuck asks Brad how he is doing. Brad mentions some improv news, then our two lovable scamplike hosts start talking about the negativity they've seen lately. It starts with Paul Walker's passing and social media reaction thereto. They talk about women in media in 2013. They talk about local bands and support. They talk about a terrible experience at a local eatery. They talk about Spike Lee's "Oldboy."
Then, of course, they move on to what's up with Chuck. Chuck plugs the new Senior Discount album and an upcoming show (see Web Couliers below). Then it's time for movie news! What do they think of Wonder Woman appearing in the Superman/Batman movie? What's the deal with the red band trailer for "Nymphomaniac?" Ooh, is that the trailer for "Amazing Spider-Man 2?" Other X-Men movie news follows, then they discuss the film adaptation of "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark."
