Ska fans rejoice! We attended a screening of "Pick It Up: Ska in the 90's" to host a Q&A with Scott Klopfenstein! Yes, the dude from Reel Big Fish and the Littlest Man Band! It gets better! We also had Coolie Ranx from the Pilfers join the Q&A! And we RECORDED that Q&A for you!!!!!! Wow! After I tell Chuck a brief story about a scam I recently pulled (and "scam" may be stretching it), we tell the whole story of how we got involved with the movie/Q&A/show. We talk about our trip to and from Brooklyn and also discuss road trip etiquette! Super fun talk and that's just LEADING UP to the Q&A!!!!!!

#378 - Chuck Films With TESD, Brad's Bidet Misadventure, and American Animals

Chuck and I start out talking about various dumb ailments and my complaints about FedEx and an imagined argument with them, then segue into getting scammed/almost getting scammed. We talk about a local restaurant and our gripe with them, then Chuck talks about an important musical influence reaching out to him to compliment the new album. Chuck then talks about his whirlwind filming expedition with the guys from Tell 'Em Steve-Dave in New Jersey. I follow up with an embarrassing story about installing a bidet kit in my home. We then talk about the relatively-new movie American Animals and how we felt about this genre-bending project.

Episode 320: Venom in the MCU, the SNES Classic, and Zoobilee 2017

Back in the studio again this week! Chuck and I talk about the new Jurassic World movie and wildly speculate about the plot. We then speculate about the plot of "Jigsaw," the new film in the "Saw" franchise. We then turn our attention to the news that the status of Venom in relation to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and continue our wild speculation about whether our symbiotic pal will make the leap to the MCU and how that could work. From there, we talk about the SNES Classic and whether or not it is worth a purchase. I defend the 16-bit game "Bubsy." We talk about our recent few weeks, including Senior Discount's show with the Toasters, an extended behind-the-scenes (from our points of view) of the Reel Big Fish interview(s). Chuck and Gina relate the story of Roger Williams' Zoobilee 2017 to me - Zoobilee being an annual fundraiser for the Roger Williams Zoo that features food from dozens of Providence restaurants and also Chuck messing up the mojo of the on-site band. We finish with a new segment that we brainstorm on the podcast and have fun doing so. Fun week!

There was a lot of stuff to catch up on!

Episode 282: Super Mario Run, Rob Lowe Roast, and CM Punk's UFC Debut

The 282nd installment begins with some show updates, then goes to the movie driplets. Jurassic World is going to be a trilogy - guess how excited Chuck is for that? We learn who the villain will be for the third Wolverine movie, and talk about the upcoming Stan Lee biopic. Nintendo recently announced an endless runner game coming to iOS systems - we have feelings about this. Chuck laments the news that the upgraded PS4 will not have a 4K blu-ray drive. I remain ambivalent.
We talk about the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe and try to figure out why we didn't like it as much as previous roasts. Chuck talks about his struggle to get Green Day tickets, but gets excited about the chance to see Reel Big Fish play one of their albums live.
We close the show by talking extensively about CM Punk's venture into mixed martial arts. Unsurprisingly, we are firmly in his corner, and passionately defend his stance to an uncaring MMA community.

Episode 273: Warped Tour, Ghostbusters, and The Story of No Plateau

Before we are joined by our special guests, we have news to recap and recount! Because we're such cool big shots, we covered the Warped Tour as press! What does that mean? We're still trying to figure that out! Who was our favorite band? How did we avoid sunburn? How do chicken fingers relate to an erection? We answer all of those questions (even though that last one is pretty self-explanatory). We also review the new Ghostbusters movie and discuss what we liked and what we didn't about the film.
From there, we are joined by Christian Staton and Sean Murphy of Providence-based band No Plateau. We immediately learn that Christian has a depraved past and don't let go of it the entire episode. We also learn about their forays into music, how they got together, and the story behind their new EP, No One But Me.

Episode 214 finds us joined by Podcast Newcomer Sara P, an old friend of Chuck's. After the usual updates, the guys (and guy-ette) discuss the below Web Couliers. Chuck then provides some movie driplets - a Chris Farley documentary, Nick Fury's role in Civil War, and the Disney news about "Night on Bald Mountain."
Chuck and Brad tell Sara about their recent trip to see a stop on Nick Offerman's book tour, then Chuck and Brad thrill her when discussing the sequel to famed comic series Old Man Logan. Chuck also tells Brad and Sara about the Fight Club 2 comic. Chuck and Brad talk about some recent karaoke adventures in Providence, and also discuss some items of infamous history in the city. Sara tells a little infamous history of her own, sharing the tale of a car-egging gone awry.
Chuck talks about his recent trip to see the Reel Big Fish/Less Than Jake tour and how exciting the night was. After that, Chuck explains the movie Stretch and provides an enthusiastic opinion about whether it should be watched. We close with another exciting edition of Chuck's Petty Printouts, as Chuck relates a recent eBay squabble with a man from another country.
