#534 - Chuck's Nerf Obsession, The Val Kilmer Documentary, and Our Dark Knight Show Recap

We kick things off with Chuck bragging about his cool new Nerf collection - am I foolish for thinking that if foam darts are rocketing toward my eyes, some glasses might be helpful? Chuck seems to think so! We then answer some listener emails including a big Would You Rather. From there, Chuck tells me about the Val Kilmer documentary "Val" on Prime Video and I agree to watch it soon. After that, he tells me all about his cool Rhode Island Day with TESD mainstay Frank Five and Mrs. Five. Finally, we talk about our recent gig at the Comedy Connection; all the work behind the scenes, everything that went wrong, so many jokes at Ray Harrington's expense, then winning the crowd over with the final bit. Big talk this week! Chuck and I haven't talked to each other in over a week! We talk about weird things that happened today including a call center employee going off on me over the phone! We talk about our shows together in Hartford and East Providence and all the events surrounding them. After that, I regale Chuck with my tale of family time back in Indiana and he tells me about changing traditions out here in Rhode Island. Once we are caught up on our weeks, we discuss Stranger Things season 3 (no spoilers), then give a spoiler-free review of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Chuck and I are back in the saddle this week! We talk about some emotional au jus in my life and how to chase joy. We wax ecstatic about donuts, then talk about our roles at the 2019 Malted Barley World Pretzel Eating Championship (coming to PVDFest on Saturday, June 8). Chuck reviews the Crunch Cup and sings its praises. Following that, we talk about the behind-the-scenes of our 400th episode, which went down live at the Comedy Connection on May 16. We talk about Tricycle Ice Cream and Chuck tells me about a Pete Holmes book reading he and Gina attended over the weekend. We also wax ecstatic about Pete Holmes and revel in the similarities between me and him. Chuck reviews the restaurant Feast in East Greenwich, RI, then tells me about his trip to WWE Smackdown earlier this week. I give a quick update about my recent past and we're outta here!

#412 - Cokie the Clown, Our Comedy Tour Recap, and Avengers: Endgame

Action-packed this week! We are joined by Gina Mastrostefano, Lou Perella, and Abe Correia to discuss a bunch of stuff! We start by recapping our Hartford comedy show from last week and discuss the highs and lows we went through there. After that, we talk about a trip to NYC to see NoFX's lead singer Fat Mike perform a set as his alter-ego Cokie the Clown. How depressing was the set, and how did we feel about it? After that, we talk about the highs and lows of our comedy show in New York, then about the lows and lows of our show in Boston. (Not a typo. Lows AND lows.) After recapping our very busy weekend, we finally discuss our SPOILER-FREE thoughts on Avengers: Endgame. We then make it perfectly clear when we're about to shift into spoiler-full territory and do so, giving our thoughts and feelings on the movie that concludes Marvel's 22-movie "Infinity Saga." Get excited to hear about how much and how often and how hard we cried in the theater!
