#550 - Behind The Scenes of Chuck and Brad's Best Christmas Show Ever 2021

We just finished a weekend of live shows and we're here to talk about it! Our first stop was Smodcastle in New Jersey - how did my drive to that neck of the woods go? Then back to our home club, The Comedy Connection, in East Providence, RI! How did things go comically awry, and how much of that was intended? We dish all the dirt! We read some listener emails and answer some probing questions about Christmas before signing off! Have a great holiday season, ya filthy animals!

#548 - Chuck Loves Hawkeye, Brad's Memory Lane, and The Deli Encounter

We start out by welcoming my new Secret Santa pals to the podcast, as I'm certain they're listening. Chuck accuses me of plying him with alcohol in a bit that I hated immediately. Chuck talks about the move to Staten Island. He waxes ecstatic about the Disney Plus series Hawkeye, which I am not caught up on. Our ecstacy wanes as we discuss the MCU movie "Eternals." At that point, we remember we need to plug our upcoming shows at Smodcastle and the Comedy Connection. Chuck tells me about Ghostbusters: Afterlife, then we talk about the effects of his COVID diagnosis. From there, I talk about my trip to Indiana and the discovery of notes from a high-school sweetheart. Chuck then talks about a possible new sweetheart he encountered at the deli counter at the supermarket near his Staten Island place. We then close with a new segment called "Staton Island," where Chuck talks about how he spends his time at his place in New York to make the lonely hours seem less lonely.

Did I actually set a timer on my phone? Don't forget we also hosted panels for Titans and Supernatural! Wow! How could two mild-mannered men do all this on so little sleep?

#438 (Archive Ep) - Halloween 2019 with Ray Harrington

It hurts to admit but I am facing some battles professionally and emotionally! We loved having Mark Normand on our last episode, and the 2021 Chuck and Brad Podcast Halloween Special is coming next week (plus it's a very rare VIDEO EP featuring old Ray Harrington)!
But the truth is - we just didn't have time for a new episode this week. We're sick, we're working like dogs for Chuck and Brad's Halloween Spooktacular 3, Live at the Comedy Connection in RI on Thursday, 10/21/21, so we're reposting one of our favorite Halloween episodes, again, with Ray Harrington.
Sorry! We will make up for it! In the meantime, we do have a new episode up on the Pinky Promise Podcast, a mini-ep up with PVD Horror, and I just hosted a two-hour episode of the TESD Tapes with Walt Flangan, Bryan Johnson and Gitem Steve-Dave over on the Tell 'Em Steve-Dave Patreon.
But for now, enjoy this spooky episode - I love this one!!!

From there, we hear about Chuck's trip to New Jersey to film with Kevin Smith and Steve Buscemi - aka Kev and the Boosh! Chuck films with them, bums around the state with his cool Jersey friends, then drives to New York to do some more filming with Tuesdays With Stories. Why was Chuck late, and how is it never his fault? He came back to town for a day, then went to New York to see The Lion King on Broadway. Chuck explains it all to me, then talks about having to evacuate the hotel after a suspicious fire alarm. Fortunately, he made it home safely. We then read some listener emails, including one listener surviving a confrontation of his own with a naked (and psychotic!) man. We discuss our fighting strategies for both naked and non-naked opponents. I tell Chuck about my trip to see "Into the Woods" put on by a local theater group and Chuck loves my misadventures. Chuck tells me about his fancy trip to the Newport Polo Grounds with a variety of local influencers. He then tells me about his trip to get a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy (the van) and how it led him to a new fancy seafood place. Chuck starts out by talking about the idea of "red flag movies," and how the very IDEA makes him see red (I'm sorry). We put that absurd idea to bed, then I tell Chuck about Wonder Woman '84 and my thoughts on that. Chuck tells me about the Ryan Reynolds movie Free Guy and how much he enjoyed it. I then surprise Chuck with a bonus recap of the early-80's film "Up The Creek." I am also surprised I watched it. We answer some listener emails about the Arcade 1-Up, our show recap, and watching a movie sans trailers. That provides a nice segue into a discussion about the trailer for the new Spider-Man film. After we clean up our laps, we talk about the new trailer for "Shredder's Revenge," then the just-release footage from the next Saints Row game. After that, he tells me all about his cool Rhode Island Day with TESD mainstay Frank Five and Mrs. Five. Who's ready to live their life a quarter-mile at a time? We're joined by Brian Lau to find out the answer to that through explaining the ENTIRE TIMELINE of the "Fast and Furious" film saga. This episode finds us looking at the original "The Fast and The Furious" through "Fast Five," as well as multiple other films that link some of the movies, and the character Han's origins in the film "Better Luck Tomorrow." B Lau has not seen most of these movies, and we do our best to get him up to "speed" on the plots, characters, and transition from sort-of-realistic street racing film to "the coolest driving sequence we can remember." I botch our intro, but Chuck saves the day with a lengthy aside. We discuss the morality of parking in reserved parking spaces after-hours. We go through some listener emails and talk about the future of the pod, new media, merch, then get off on a tangent about fast food. It is a lengthy tangent. We talk about the trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Vin Diesel's Rock 'Em Sock'Em Robots project, and Chuck tells me about a bunch of behind-the-scenes stuff from Borat 2. We close with a discussion of Chuck's recent Jersey trip and filming with the TESD guys.

#516 - "Chuck-and-Brad" Con, IP Mash-Up Films, and Army of the Dead

The podcast starts out this week with me only pretending to be mad at Chuck about his timeliness affecting our weekend plans. Chuck then talks about getting hired by another big podcast to produce content for their Patreon and how it affects his journey to work in the creative field. We talk about our upcoming adventures on The Geek Boat and make some cosplay plans I'm not entirely comfortable with. We talk about the megadeal from Netflix for two Knives Out sequels. We discuss the trailer for Space Jam 2 and the idea of movies that combine intellectual properties in one film - is this a good practice? I talk about finding enjoyment watching a game streamer, then how I also watched several videos about faked speed runs, which just seems...it blows away the brain of Child Brad is all. Chuck talks about some delicious meals he had at nice restaurants in the area. We then close with a discussion about Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead and whether or not zombies should be fast.

#515 - Chuck's Creative Steps!

We kick this week off with some listener emails! Should Chuck have suspected foul play in his recent coffeeshop misadventure? We talk about the below Web Couliers, then Chuck talks about the exciting things he's been up to recently. Filming and editing the big Tell Em Steve-Dave/Smodcast crossover episodes. Starting to work with Tuesdays With Stories. Possibly getting an office? As all this is going on, he suffers a mystery injury and worries deeply about his immediate and long-term future. He actually films with the Tuesdays guys, eats at the delicious restaurant J22 in Jamestown, RI, then (spoiler alert) goes all-in on the office. Sure, moving him in went smoothly, but how did actually setting everything up go? We then discuss the likelihood of Chuck being attacked by creatures when working alone in his office at night. I offer a paltry celebration for my paltry achievements and we talk about being above- or below-average in different areas of our lives.

#514 - Our "Godzilla" and "King Kong" Pitches

Whoa mama! Ray Harrington joins us this week, which means y'all are in for a great time! Chuck starts out the episode by breaking his own rules about what is and isn't history in our lives. We briefly discuss the 1998 Godzilla film and Ray offers some suggestions on how to fix it. We discuss catheter usage versus diaper usage, then we get to our pitches. I then offer my take on the classic franchise. Ray follows with several fantastic ideas, then Chuck steps up. It is something that could truly only come from the twisted mind of Chuck Staton.

#513 - Chuck Enters the A-List, Brad's Garbage Disposal Drama, and We Defend Kylie Jenner

Chuck regales me up top with a coffee shop mystery that remains unsolved! We then discuss his recent work with (and praise from) Kevin Smith and how he feels about not only that, but appearing on camera for Tell Em Steve-Dave. We break down our feelings about the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Black Widow's premiere is pushed back again - will I be comfortable seeing it in theaters now? We also discuss the MCU/Shakespeare crossover coming soon. Ace Ventura 3 is coming and neither Chuck nor I uses the opportunity to talk with our butts (wasted opportunity). We talk about the NoFX Patreon for a bit. We also discuss the backlash against Kylie Jenner - a celebrity we know virtually nothing about - for being charitable but somehow not being charitable enough. I then tell Chuck about the one exciting thing from my week - inadvertently breaking my garbage disposal and feeling like a complete putz about it.

#512 - Movie Theaters Reopening, Reindeer Games (for some reason), and Chuck Films And Edits Like A Madman

Why does temptation always attack when you are trying to eat healthy? Chuck laments that while celebrating his feast. I talk about the movies Richard Jewell and Ford v Ferrari. We talk about our 2022 appearance (?) on The Geek Boat and wonder what that will be like. We discuss our feelings about the upcoming Justice League Snyder Cut. We talk about our feelings on returning to movie theaters in th near future. We discuss the upcoming Ghostbusters film and our relationships with the previous films in the franchise. Chuck talks about the upcoming video game "TMNT: Shredder's Revenge," we discuss tongue-in-cheek accusations of joke theft, then I talk about the short fan film "Batman: Dying Is Easy." Chuck and I differ in excitement levels for Kong vs Godzilla, then share excitmeent about the upcoming documntary about Stone Cold Steve Austin. We discuss cremation and the best way to cremate me. We discuss Body Count winning a Grammy, then Chuck recaps the entire plot of the film "Reindeer Games." Spoilers abound. Once we have revisited Ben Affleck's work, Chuck tells me about his weekend in New Jersey filming for Smodcast and Tell Em Steve-Dave.

#511 - Surgery Thresholds, Chuck's Favorite Concerts Played, and Modern Culture

Our pal had arm surgery and it seems pretty extreme - would we go through the same thing? At what point does "pain from surgery" outweigh "possible future pain?" We talk about some listener emails, including standout episodes and Chuck's favorite concert experiences (as a musician). I talk about the movie "Boss Level," Chuck waxes poetic about the @IndieBurgerKing account on Twitter. We talk about some driplets of movie news, then dive into a big discussion. What is "cancel culture," and how is the term being used (and misused) today?

#509 - Montezuma's Revenge, Thunder Road, and Chuck Needs a Win

Chuck wonders about the term "Montezuma's Revenge" and its origins, which leads to a discussion about legacy - is it better to be known for something gross or forgotten? Chuck pushes me on my fictional legacy. We read some listener emails, one of which forces us to dive into our knowledge of pop-punk songs and which ones we love. We talk about the recent weather event in Texas and how they affected our Lone Star Pals. Chuck opens up about the dynamic relationship between receiving public praise and dealing with private failures and that struggle. We then discuss the movie "Thunder Road," and how we feel about Jim Cummings. I tell Chuck all about the listener-recommended show Joe Pera Talks With You and how much I enjoyed it. I also mention Derek Delgaudio's In and Of Itself, but can't talk too much about it without spoiling things for Chuck. We then discuss the trailer for the new Mortal Kombat movie and our experiences with the Mortal Kombat franchise. From there, it's video game news - Tony Hawk coming to the Switch, a new documentary series about Nintendo - a quick step away to discuss Disney Plus' Parental Controls. We then discuss the upcoming documentary "Murder Among The Mormons" before closing with a discussion about a TV show based on the Playstation series of "Twisted Metal" games.

#508 - Chuck's New Hampshire Weekend, Jackass 4 Drama, and WandaVision

Chuck went away for the weekend and now he's back! We offer up some Armie Hammer jokes, then read some listener emails. Chuck admits he sometimes confuses history and television and I am appalled. He tells me about his Curb Your Enthusiasm-style encounter with a local bakery, then some minor complaints about another situation. He then regales me with the entire story of his Gina's Birthday/Valentine's weekend in New Hampshire. Delicious restaurants, cool coffee shops, a fun antique store, a perilous bridge...solid weekend! From there, we discuss Bam Margera's recent Instagram stories cursing the cast and crew of Jackass 4 and what it means for Bam (and the movie). After that, we get into WandaVision theories so our guesses will be on the record when the show ends! How will it end, and how will Chuck assimilate this show into what he perceives as "history?"
