Episode 293: Chuck and Brad's Chris-Match - TLC: Tinsel, Laughter, and Cheer

This is one of our favorite episodes ever.

We got together with six of our friends (giving us eight voices), then four more friends (as judges), then one final friend (as a sound mixer) and had a wonderfully crazy competition between Brad's Team and Chuck's Team in a winner-take-all series of Christmas games for the ages! Team names, Christmas trivia, ruining Christmas movies, insulting poems, the first and last time we'll ever play "What Celebrity's In My Bed?" on the podcast, a song parody battle between Maksood and Christian, confessing shameful secrets to Santa, and Christmas Deception! Wow! That took a long time just to type! Seriously, this is probably the most fun we've had on the podcast and the first time we've tried something with this many pieces. It is so, so, so, so fun.
Guests include: Abe Correia, Fawn Correia, Michayla Currie, Jordan Furtado, Brian Lau, Eric Maksood, Gina Mastrostefano, Olivia, Christian Staton, and Sam Staton. Sound engineered by Sean Murphy. Merry Christmas!

Episode 292: The Story of Lemon Lime Tennis Shoes

Another awesome interview! We get together with Matt "Catfood" Kelley to talk about the local scene. How did Lemon Lime Tennis Shoes start? How did Matt get so good at guitar? What's up with the shift from punk to ska? Why on earth would he later join Senior Discount? All this and more in episode 292!

Episode 291: Chuck House Update, Doctor Strange, and Brad's Reunion Anxiety

Whoa mama! Episode 291! After Chuck and I each plug some upcoming shows, we discuss the below Web Couliers. We talk about Marvel's "Inhumans" going to TV, Jackie Chan (our close personal friend) winning an academy award, Ryan Reynolds' take on the director leaving Deadpool 2, and the forthcoming ESPN documentary about the XFL.
We talk a little bit about comedian Kyle Kinane and how our schedules just didn't line up for an interview this week. Chuck breaks the news about his house reconstruction being delayed. Speaking of reconstruction, we have a new president and things are going to look very different. That's a weird post-Civil-War reference. Chuck reviews the food at the Congress Tavern, then we actually break down the movie Doctor Strange. Good stuff! We also talk about how much we enjoyed the now-on-video movie "Central Intelligence." Chuck went to a Pentatonix show - did he love it? It's Chuck. Of COURSE he loved it. He also talks about a wedding he went to recently. We actually close this episode talking about the anxiety I feel about my upcoming high school reunion that I'm not even going to. Honesty remains a priority for the C&BPC!!!

Episode 290: Political Misgivings, Impractical Jokers Live, and Maron at Carnegie

We recorded this during the evening of Election Day...so we did not know who was going to win the election when we recorded. I express concerns about a candidate. Chuck reassures me that there is no way that candidate could win. *sigh*
Moving to areas that we're more comfortable with, we talk about Dave Chapelle hosting SNL this coming weekend, the 'Big Bang Theory' prequel, and the Simpsons being renewed for seasons 29 and 30 - how can an animated show stay fresh? What do we like about what South Park is doing? Also, the 'Deadpool' director left 'Deadpool 2' - what does that mean for the project?
Last week found us in New Jersey to see Impractical Jokers live (with Nitro Circus). How was it? Pretty great! But you should still listen for details! Our trip continued with some gallivanting around NYC, then seeing Marc Maron at Carnegie Hall. Spoiler alert: Marc Maron is brilliant. We also got to see Dane Cook at the Beacon Street Theatre, which was also great (in a different way). And finally...Chuck played poker for the first time ever! How did he beat me?!?!
~ Brad

Everything I said in this episode was recorded before Trump won. I was wrong when I predicted he'd lose, and outside of that, I stand by every opinion I expressed.

Episode 289: The Shining, Halloween Activities, and The Interrupters

Chuck and I dive right into talk about some stuff we did the week of Halloween. Chuck went to see "The Shining" in theaters and we break it down. He also watched the documentary Room 237 and we break THAT down. I know it's not cool to say about our own podcast, but I really enjoyed this conversation. Chuck relays tales from his exciting weekend to me, we talk about our trip to Boston to see WWE Hell in a Cell (in costume)!
We talk about Chuck's band Senior Discount opening for Strung Out, Hannibal Burress' new podcast, and the treasure trove of pop culture that arrived in mid-October: the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 teaser, the Nintendo Switch announcement, the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, the new Blink-182 video, and the trailer for Logan. Whoa mama! We also chat about some recent very entertaining issues of Spider-Man and Deadpool
We close this week by reviewing the recent show by The Interrupters at Brighton Music Hall in Boston. Also a fun conversation! I'm full of myself!

Episode 288: Halloween 2016!

We're joined by Nic Hallenbeck and Brian Decoteaux for our annual Halloween episode! Chuck and I talk about the spooky things we've done this month to stay festive. We discuss Stranger Things, the documentary Tales of Rocky Point Park, and Hocus Pocus. We go through Chuck's favorite annual tradition - Rejected Halloween Costumes! It's a blast. Chuck updates us on the Grinchverse, and also adds a few songs to his Halloween playlist. Chuck and I recap and review Pet Sematary 2 (terrible!) Finally, Gina Mastrostefano joins the podcast to present a game - Chuck and I play this game, with the loser having to endure the most brutal punishment imaginable - doing a book report on the "biography" of WWE "superstar" Kane! (the biography is NOT about the real wrestler who plays the character, it's ACTUALLY about the fictional character - this book is so bad)

Episode 286: 2K Movies, Fun In Comedy, and a Horse Costume

Episode 286 starts with our official political endorsement (sort of), as well as our views on the election cycle. Our views are dim. After some show plugs, we talk about the below Web Couliers, then dive into some Movie Driplets. The return of Frank Grimes on The Simpsons and Green Day's American Idiot movie are discussed, then we try to figure out what a "2K" restoration is for John Carpenter's The Thing. We brainstorm about the possibilities for Sony's Spider-Man spinoff films, then talk about the new show with Demetri Martin and fake facts.
We talk about Deadpool merging with Howard the Duck and about fun in comics (and in comedy). Chuck salivates over the WWE/Ninja Turtle action figures, then we talk about Green Day's upcoming tour with Against Me. Chuck reviews local restaurants Say Cheese and Growler's Wing Bar, I talk about a food adventure and hurting my leg, then we review the recent Against Me show at Fete. Spoiler alert: we liked it.
We also talk a lot about farts this episode.

This week we interview Jason Mayoh, creator not only of the Tales Of Rocky Point Park graphic novel, but also the director of the Tales Of Rocky Point Park film! Wow! We learn about his entire career, from his beginnings as a production assistant, working through art departments, storyboarding, to finally appearing on this podcast, which I think he called "the pinnacle of anyone's career." Not sure if that has any shred of truth. But he's a good guy and it was such a fun interview.

Episode 284.5: Announcing Our New Halloween Site!

A NEW CHUCK AND BRAD PODCAST ON A MONDAY? Yes! As the Halloween 2016 season begins in earnest, we wanted to provide you with a "treat" in terms of setting the season up right and getting ourselves in the mood; so we introduce to you Chuck and Brad's "Official" Halloween anthem in order to properly announce OUR HALLOWEEN WEBSITE! Check out all our podcasts, videos, upcoming appearances and other goodies from the years passed, collected all in one place! www.chuckandbradpodcast.com!
- Chuck

The goal of this episode is to release a recap of some of our Halloween festivities from last year that were recorded AFTER our official Halloween 2015 podcast...but first, Chuck shows me a video (for the aforementioned "anthem") that almost made shuffle off this mortal coil. It is terrible. It is wonderful. It is our new Halloween anthem. It is the below Web Coulier. Once I've properly digested that, we throw to the recap of last year's post-official-Halloween-2015-podcast spooky activities to get us (and you) in the mood to celebrate this year!

Episode 284: YouTube Go, Chuck Rides a Horse, and Relationship Dynamics

After a quick chat about the below Web Coulier, we dive into some very shallow movie driplets (it's a very unsafe dive). We talk about a delay for the next Friday the 13th movie, Stan Lee's next cameos, and MacGruber 2. After that, we discuss the new YouTube Go app (piloted in India) and what that means for us. Check tells the saga of swapping Less Than Jake tickets (for other Less Than Jake tickets). He then tells me about his recent horseback riding experience. Did he get kicked in the face by a horse? You'll have to listen to find out! (But no. He's fine.) Finally, we discuss the dynamic of a "Look At Me" person with an "I See You" person. How do we evaluate ourselves on that scale?

Episode 283: Complicated Media Streaming, Transparency, and Brad's Epiphany

We start with some plugs for social media (and to rate the podcast on iTunes), and then go into a talk about a driplet of news concerning CW's media streaming policy. This becomes a downpour of news as we brainstorm ideas on how to fix streaming media in general. A lot of water terms in there. Chuck shares a GMail trick with me, then reviews a local Mexican restaurant. We talk about our recent stand-up show and what we learned. Chuck talks about Senior Discount's performance at the Pop Rocks Music Festival and laments his DVD-trade-in options in the area.
Chuck then brings up the idea of transparency; are we open enough on the podcast? How can we be more transparent in our personal and podcastal lives? That segues beautifully into me sharing something I felt/experienced over the summer and how I got there. Totally transparent!

Episode 282: Super Mario Run, Rob Lowe Roast, and CM Punk's UFC Debut

The 282nd installment begins with some show updates, then goes to the movie driplets. Jurassic World is going to be a trilogy - guess how excited Chuck is for that? We learn who the villain will be for the third Wolverine movie, and talk about the upcoming Stan Lee biopic. Nintendo recently announced an endless runner game coming to iOS systems - we have feelings about this. Chuck laments the news that the upgraded PS4 will not have a 4K blu-ray drive. I remain ambivalent.
We talk about the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe and try to figure out why we didn't like it as much as previous roasts. Chuck talks about his struggle to get Green Day tickets, but gets excited about the chance to see Reel Big Fish play one of their albums live.
We close the show by talking extensively about CM Punk's venture into mixed martial arts. Unsurprisingly, we are firmly in his corner, and passionately defend his stance to an uncaring MMA community.

Back to Classic Chuck and Vintage Brad this week, as it's just the two of us. I share the story of a foolish mistake I recently made, Chuck expresses his delight about the upcoming Green Day tour. We talk about a 10-year old remake of a 20-year old game coming to the Wii U (a dying system) and couldn't be happier.
Chuck recaps his trip to see Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally live, we talk about the Kevin Smith movie Yoga Hosers, then Chuck relates the tale of going to see Don't Think Twice, the new film from Mike Birbiglia.
Chuck and I close by talking about Stranger Things and other original Netflix properties and how excited we are that we are finally catching up to the rest of the Western world in our appreciation thereof.

Episode 279: Confrontational Comedy, Summerslam, and the blink-182 Concert

We are joined this week by local goofballs Lou Perella and Gina Mastrostefano. Chuck kicks things off proper by sharing some late-developing thoughts about Suicide Squad and its marketing. Does a trailer using "Bohemian Rhapsody" convey a certain tone or set of expectations? After that, Chuck tells Lou (and you?) about the Eric Andre show. Yes, we're like four seasons late to the party, but at least we got to the party! We all talk about Comedy Central's Roast Battle (from last month) and roast comedy in general. Speaking of comedy, we also break down our night performing stand-up at the Wheel House in Narragansett - our first bar show!
Chuck tells me about his weekend beach experience, I tell him about mine. We discuss Summerslam 2016 and the ending to the Brock Lesnar/Randy Orton match.
Finally, we talk about going to see Blink-182 in concert last week. On top of that, we assemble our "ideal" Blink-182 concert setlists and debate the merits of each. Fun reminiscing!

Episode 278: Louis CK, Chuck's Stand-Up Review, and Sausage Party

This episode starts out with me talking about my work burdens before we dive into the below Web Couliers. Chuck shares some movie driplets - one makes us glad, one makes us sad. We talk about the new Green Day album, Conor McGregor trash-talking the WWE roster, and podcast pal Brian Decoteaux's birthday gift to Chuck. We gleefully recap our trip to Louis CK, which leads to a discussion about my parents' comedy habits (or lack thereof). We chat about Chuck encouraging children to assault me at a 4-year-old's birthday party.
Chuck talks about the movie The Nice Guys, then his sweet kayaking trip around Bristol. We break down his stand-up set in the Last Comix Standing contest from last week, and he tells me about Foo Fest, a Providence street party.
From there, we break down the new movie Sausage Party and our thoughts on it - we say we're only going to do seven minutes' worth of spoiler-full talk, but it goes beyond that. Episode 275: Flight of the Conchords, Stand-Up Review, and Canobie Lake Park

After some Chuck and Brad updates, we talk about some news! We chat about the Netflix Marvel Universe and what we're excited about, then Chuck gets REALLY excited for the trailer for Kong: Skull Island. Chuck tells me about John Cena being cast in an HBO mockumentary about cycling, then about Joe Carnahan writing the Uncharted movie. There's a Blair Witch sequel coming out, as well as a remake of...*sigh*...Pumpkinhead.
Fans of Chuck's squabbles will be delighted to learn that this week, he's upset again, and he's setting his sights on a company going out of business. We talk about the new singles from Against Me! and Green Day, as well as Michael J. Fox appearing on stage with Coldplay.
Once the news is done, we look back at our past few weeks. We went to see Flight of the Conchords, Chuck went to Vermont, Chuck talks about the foam party last week's guests played, then we get to a weekend of stand-up. We both performed Saturday night, then I went up on Sunday as part of the Last Comix Standing. We talk a lot about what worked and what didn't, although I tend to focus on more of the latter. Then we discuss our group trip to Canobie Lake Park before Chuck tells me about his birthday at the Mystic Aquarium! We have been busy!

We're still trying to figure that out! Who was our favorite band? How did we avoid sunburn? How do chicken fingers relate to an erection? We answer all of those questions (even though that last one is pretty self-explanatory). We also review the new Ghostbusters movie and discuss what we liked and what we didn't about the film.
From there, we are joined by Christian Staton and Sean Murphy of Providence-based band No Plateau. We immediately learn that Christian has a depraved past and don't let go of it the entire episode. Hear the twisted tale of Chuck's print shop visits gone horribly wrong, and the assault accusation that came his way because of it! After that, we chat about being forced to spend a bunch of credit at MovieStop and the possibility of Netflix offering downloads. We also review my birthday weekend festivities - Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 on Saturday night, followed by pizza with pals on Sunday night. It was a nice low-key birthday weekend. Then we break down the recent Pixar film Finding Dory - did the same part make each of us tear up???? After that, inspired by the new Blink-182 song "Teenage Satellites," we talk about awesome nights we remember from summers gone by - starting as teens and continuing through current day. And that we didn't talk about what we did until on the podcast? Chuck recaps his fun American weekend with friends and family and I talk about barely beating a six year-old in a mile race! After that, it's on to E3 for a while. Remember when we used to be super excited about E3? Good times. In any event, Dead Rising 4 is going to be a Christmas Zombie game, and Chuck's glee is palpable. Chuck then talks about his recent trip to see an episode of Hollywood Babble-On, as well as a productive comic shopping expedition.
From there, it's all about comedy for a while, as we compare and contrast Documentary Now, Lady Dynamite, Neighbors, Neighbors 2, and Popstar. We love Popstar. I talk about going to see Warcraft, then we close the episode discussing X-Men: Apocalypse.

After some quick show plugs, Chuck shares a movie driplet, Brad shares the misadventures of his car, then the interview begins. We talk with Brian about his start in comedy, the transition to booking, and our plans/goals for the future. Brian is open and funny and I think the fact that we had a genuinely good time is evident throughout the episode.

Episode 262: Memory Lane with Lou, Dana Carvey, and Being Evel

We are joined this week by esteemed chef and disesteemed human Lou Perella. After some quick Chuck and Brad updates, Lou presents a treasure trove of things he's found while cleaning out his old basement - tons of old WWF Magazines! Chuck then gives us all some movie driplets about the Wet Hot American Summer sequel, The Punisher series, Chuck Palahniuk's Snuff as a TV series, and a Puppet Master reboot. We also talk about Space Jam 2 starring Lebron James, as well as Jon Favreau directing another Marvel movie, and Seth McFarlane's next TV project.
Chuck then brings up the Civil War II storyline starting in Marvel comics and talks about some other Civil War stuff. We talk about the proper pronoun for a baby, a recent NoFX show, our trip to see Dana Carvey, and the recent WWE Payback show. Chuck then tells me and Lou all about the documentary Being Evel and how interesting the life of Evel Knievel was. Then the provider of this week's "Jurassic Snark" is none other than ol' Lou!

Episode 261: Live Wrestling, Civil War Hype, and Cultural Appropriation

Woohoo! Episode 261 y'all! After some quick updates, we announce the winner of our not-affiliated-with-anything Captain America: Civil War contest! Awesome! We break down the below Web Couliers and Chuck salivates at the thought of new Blink-182 music. Then he salivates about news concerning a Jumanji reboot, and a possible Iron Man 4. We somehow segue into more talk about Captain America: Civil War. We then break down the past week or so, which included StarFox Zero, two separate live wrestling events (WWE NXT + WWE RAW), and watching a movie in the theater in Chuck's apartment complex.
We then talk about Jerry Seinfeld's plan to help Margaret Cho get a second chance with an audience that didn't enjoy her set. Chuck talks about four podcasts he's listened to recently that he recently enjoyed. After that, we dip our tootsies into the conversation about cultural appropriation and really demonstrate our lack of understanding and call for clarity on the issues.

Episode 260: Our Super Official Captain America: Civil War Contest

We are running a contest this week! While we aren't official characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yet), that doesn't mean we can't celebrate its existence. And we do so with a ten-question quiz sprinkled throughout the episode. Answers can be submitted before Tuesday, April 26 at 11:59 via chuckandbrad@gmail.com. The episode starts with some Movie Driplets about the next Spider-Man movie, then I explain to Chuck the writers of another shared cinematic universe that has us scratching our bulbous heads in confusion, like apes confronted with a medium-difficulty Sudoku. Chuck then enlightens us with a housefire update about the person charged with stealing a check from the dumpster outside his burned-out house. We celebrate our pals Lou and Laura moving to Rhode Island, and then talk about Chuck's move to Providence for the summer.
Chuck then talks a little about the Senior Discount show last Wednesday, then talks about going to the Skylar Grey show in Boston. Brad provides an update to episode 257 for those of you concerned. There's a new entry or two in our Jurassic Snark feature, then we recap the questions and decide on a time frame for you to respond in! "What's so civil about war anyway?" - Axl Rose, I think.

Episode 259: Simon & Garfunkel, Ridiculous Emails, and Our Stand-Up Show

We welcome Gina into the studio for episode 259. After some Chuck and Brad updates, we briefly talk about the Web Coulier listed below. From there, Chuck provides movie driplets about the new Hannibal Burress documentary, as well as Mick Foley's upcoming show on the WWE Network. After that, we learn about the resurgence in popularity of the Simon & Garfunkel song "The Sound of Silence" due to its use in a meme.
The guys talk about an upcoming zombie video game, then Chuck surprises me by asking Gina to read an old email I wrote to a bunch of friends. And yes, I assume they are making fun of me (and react like it), but come around when I realize we're all in on the joke. (Proof that I am capable of admitting when I'm wrong!) Chuck then has Gina read a list of strange/wonderful things he has said before digging into his own archives to provide more ridiculousness for a new and yet unnamed segment, revolving around old quotes and things we've written in the past.
I talk about some recent improv shows, then we offer a quick spoiler-free review of the new first-person action movie Hardcore Henry. We close by reviewing our most recent (and third ever) stand-up show at the Comedy Connection.
-Brad

ALSO! Jurassic Lark? Chistory + History? New Segment Stuff:

Episode 258: Interviewing The Homeless Gospel Choir

This week is light on the Chuck and Brad, heavy on the Interview Segment. The guys offer a brief recap of their weeks - Chuck hit up a new restaurant, Brad had a road gig, the guys watched Wrestlemania with friends, and Chuck has some living situation news in regards to his house fire. Once that is complete, they turn it over to a Skype interview with Derek Zanetti, who plays acoustic punk rock as The Homeless Gospel Choir. They discuss music and art and politics and religion and the connections between everything. It's a good talk with a good guy.

Episode 257: Alien Day, iTunes Policies, and Brad's Big Decision

Remember how the previous episode was the SECOND half of a long conversation? Well...this is the FIRST half! Wow! It's like time travel! We start this week by discussing 20th Century Fox's marketing ploy of "Alien Day," celebrating the film franchise in the best possible way - through massive merchandising efforts. Chuck talks about his excitement level for Left 4 Dead 2 working on the Xbox One, then we gab about an Adam Sandler comedy tour.
I then relate an embarrassing admission about online dating before getting into some vulnerable and honest territory (with a special appearance by Gina bringing us candy).

Episode 256: Chuck and Brad Fix Batman vs Superman

Okay, so this is a weird one. What you are listening to with THIS episode was actually the second half of a very long podcast we recorded. But there was more immediacy with the Batman vs. Superman stuff, so we decided to cut the long podcast and realize this half first. If we sound confused in our intros or outros, that's why. This episode features some non-spoilery thoughts, then a long hard talk about the film's positives and its shortcomings...along with possible solutions for those shortcomings. It's a fun conversation.

Episode 255: Warped Tour, VR Headsets, and Gawker/Hogan

After Brad fouls up yet another intro, the guys promote some upcoming projects. Chuck gives a brief update about the condition of his belongings following last November's house fire, then talks about his new favorite wing from our pals at Boneheads! The guys went to see an independent wrestling show - which WWE Hall of Famer was there, and did he stink anyone's face? The guys re-review Man of Steel before talking about the lineup for this year's Warped Tour. Pretty exciting!
Chuck talks about the VR headset that came with his new phone and the guys talk about the merits of virtual reality for a while. Brad doesn't think it's socially acceptable to wear a VR headset on a plane, but does think it's socially acceptable to wear a sleep mask...or something like that. Chuck talks about this season of The Real World and VH1's new show Family Therapy.
Chuck and Brad then discuss the lawsuit between Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media, and try and define what makes something newsworthy. It goes exactly as well as you'd expect.

Episode 254: Ultra HD, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Chuck's Disc-astrophe

This week starts with the traditional updates, then the guys dive headfirst into one driplet of movie news - Indiana Jones 5. What advice does Chuck have for the people already hating on the movie? Chuck and Brad then hit up the concept of 4K discs and Ultra HD physical media. Chuck then promotes the below Web Couliers and Brad tries to refuse to put one of them up.
The guys reminisce about the heyday of wrestling when it featured moves like the Stinkface, then discuss the more-recent movie The Gift. 10 Cloverfield Lane is next up, and the guys offer a (for once) spoiler-free review. Some brief talk about the Open Mic they did earlier this week, Chuck talks about his new guitars, then Brad talks about his week and feelings of low self-worth. They discus Zootopia, then Chuck relates the "hilarious" tale of "Bruce Wang."
The episode closes with the guys trying to figure out what to do with Chuck's salvageable DVD collection going forward. This synopsis is still signed "Brad." Please don't let Chuck change it.

Episode 253 starts off with Brad and Chuck updates, then the guys discuss some listener emails. From there, it's a brief discussion of the below Web Couliers, then Chuck offers a movie driplet about the Venom movie. He and Brad talk about their trip to see an NHL game, then talk about the movie Cloverfield as they get pumped for the (possible?) sequel. Chuck relays the tale of his trip to a very fancy movie theater to see Zootopia, then offers some spoiler-free thoughts on the film.
The main course of the podcast this week is loneliness. Chuck and Brad each offer their thoughts, then read some listener comments on the subject. Chuck talks about wondering what the best way to handle dissolving friendships is, and Brad talks about some Brad-specific loneliness. Chuck ends by offering a possible solution/cure for loneliness and the guys sign off for the week and Brad goes home to his apartment alone :( to write this synopsis :/ and eat Cinnamon Bun Oreos. :) :) :) :)

Episode 252: The Thrill of Pranking, Triple 9, and The Revenant

Brad manages to spit out the greeting without fouling it up this week and Chuck and Brad immediately discuss it. From there it's some Chuck and Brad updates before getting to the below Web Couliers. There is a tangent here. Maybe a tangent off of another tangent. Chuck provides some movie driplets about an R-rated cut for Batman v Superman as well as a sequel to "Surf's Up." Insanity. They discuss the recent accident involving Google's self-driving car before getting into some recaps of the past few weeks.
Chuck provides an update on the status of his house and possessions as recovery from the house fire continues, and Brad brings a little Christmas spirit into Chuck's life via a gift. The guys talk about their trip to DNB Burgers in New Bedford, Massachusetts, before recapping the open mic they performed at in February. Chuck recaps the recent Senior Discount show in Providence, then the guys review the new movie Triple 9. Was it an amazing cop drama? From there it's a brief discussion about moving friends Abe and Fawn into a new apartment, then a recap of Monday Night Raw and a review of new movie The Revenant? Okay...was THAT an amazing cop drama? They tease next week's episode before riding off into the sunset. Oh, and Chuck also has "donut burg" in his notes which both references a topic from the podcast AND the town he's elected himself mayor of.

Episode 251: Wrestlemania Predictions

*NOTE: BRAD HAS BEEN UNKILLED AFTER LAST WEEK'S ERROR*
The 251st entry into the Chuck and Brad library finds us joined by three local hooligans - Brian Decoteaux, Izzy Carmenatty, and Kyle Platt. The dudes are here to talk about wrestling and make some predictions for this year's Wrestlemania. Before they do, however, Brad relates an adorably sad story to the guys, much to their delight. From there, each man makes predictions for Wrestlemania, picking winners or matches as necessary - sometimes with accompanying reasons and fallout. Once they've all had a turn, they talk about fantasy booking, and discussing what they'd "like" to see from this year's event. SPOILER ALERT: This episode is worth it just for Chuck's fantasy booking. A little discussion about favorite Wrestlemanias, wrestlers, and Weezer albums closes out the show.

Episode 250 FIXED: Asinine Repartee, Laura Jane Grace, and Deconstructing Deadpool

*NOTE: WE PUBLISHED THE WRONG EPISODE ORIGINALLY FOR EP 250 (A RE-POST OF LAST WEEK, EP 249). BRAD HAS BEEN KILLED TO PREVENT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN. HERE IS THE RIGHT EPISODE!*
Episode 250 starts with the guys already off on a tangent - and as far as tangents go, this one was a lot of fun. After they get back into normal updates about upcoming events, they chat about the below Web Couliers. From there, Chuck provides some movie driplets about Kurt Russell in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie, possible R Ratings for some future Fox films, and Hannibal Burress joining a very mainstream project.
After that, Chuck shares a story of personal triumph that will inspire generations to come regarding his success and the "Earthworm Jim" game. There's a smooth, obvious transition to a review of the recent Laura Jane Grace show in Providence. Was it amazing? If so, how amazing was it?
For the second episode in a row, the guys spend a lot of time talking about the success of the new Deadpool movie. How did it get so big? What does that mean for the movie industry? What new intellectual property did Brad come up with? Super fun episode this week!

After that, the Deadpool stuff begins. They talk about the origin of the character in the comics, their first encounters with the Merc with a Mouth, and what storylines of his they've enjoyed through the years. Episode 248: Spy, Knock Knock, and Joke Stealing

Brad botches the opening of episode 248, then botches it again. Hilarity.
After some Brad and S*D updates, the guys talk about their next appearance at the Comedy Connection, coming soon! The guys talk about the below Web Coulier and some other trailers they've loved before Chuck delivers a movie driplet about a space comedy starring podcast favorites Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, and Zack Galifianakis. Sounds awesome! Speaking of movies, the guys recently watched a few - the first, last year's "Spy," is a Paul Feig comedy starring Melissa McCarthy. How much did C&B love it? The second, last year's "Knock Knock," is an Eli Roth thriller starring Melissa McCarthy. How much did C&B love THAT? (Less.)
The rest of the episode concerns the recent allegations that Amy Schumer has stolen jokes. Chuck and Brad don't buy it, and talk about why. They also talk about some jokes of their own that have seeped into pop culture, and about the current comedy landscape that is rife for plunder. Comedy plunder.

Episode 246: Chuck's New Jersey Trip, Enemy, and Diversity in Media

Episode 246 starts on an aimless road...an aimless road that leads to Full House, as Chuck and Brad talk about the plots of specific episodes of Full House. This was all in an attempt to introduce the below Web Couliers. Chuck talks about some movie news about Spider-Man and Quentin Tarantino. Separately. Chuck and Brad talk about the 2013 movie Enemy and how they received it. Chuck relays some news about upcoming Dying Light DLC and a new NOFX book. Also separately.
Chuck and Gina recently took a trip to New Jersey. How did it go? Where did they eat? Did Chuck do the Stanky Leg? (No.) Brad then talks about some books he's read recently, which leads into a talk about diversity in media and Chuck and Brad admit their ignorance with a desire to be better. This talk of privilege segues beautifully into Brad's anticlimactic appearance in the Providence Municipal Court!
